They are Melbourne-based journalists who met when they were working as writers in March 2018, after their podcast pitch was declined by their employers, Michelle & Zara went off on their own and started Shameless. Fast forward to now & the girls have become a leading voice for young women and have just released their book ‘The Space Between’. The girls have absolutely revolutionised the podcast space and it was a pleasure to have them on the show.

In our chat we dive deep into launching a podcast, following your dreams & how to navigate through your 20s. We also chat all things about their new book ‘The Space Between’, how 2020 interrupted their plans and how they both are focusing on what they can control instead of what they can’t. This is for my listeners needing some guidance on how to navigate through their 20s and all the highs and lows that come with that. Today’s solo ep is a bit of a different one, as you may (or may not) know I have recently been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s which is a thyroid autoimmune disease. I had alot of DM’s requesting I share what I am doing moving forward so I thought I would put it all in one spot. OBVS I am not a medical professional, this IS NOT medical advice and you should seek your own medical advice. However as I share everything with you, I just explain my diagnosis, my treatment and some lifestyle changes I am making. I know this won’t be for everyone but I want to send so much love to those you are experiencing the same condition, it is definitely a rollercoaster and I’m right here with you on this ride!

Episode 75 brings you a big open conversation about breaking up with toxic diet culture and deconstructing bs beauty standards, which are topics you guys know I absolutely love discussing! And what better person to have this chat with than Madalin Giorgetta.

If you aren’t familiar with Madalin, she is a fitness influencer with a following of over 1 million across her platforms, a certified personal trainer, an entrepreneur and creator of her Work It with MG app.

In our chat , Madalin shares how her fitness journey all began back in 2016 with a popular workout program and how she grew her following organically with transformation photos that would circulate online. Eventually, Madalin started to notice toxic messaging that was perpetuated throughout the fitness industry, which led her to break up with diet culture and totally overhaul her message. This move came with its share of backlash, and she lost over 130k followers.

What I admire so much about Madalin is her strength and how she dealt with criticism with compassion. We get down to what happens when you overhaul your message once you have already built a following and an app from the ground up. We also chat all things biz and share some resources on how you can read between the lines of beauty standards that run rampant on social media. Hope you enjoy this one gfs, it's a goodie!
