What is The Review Review about?
A guest chooses, and rewatches a movie that - they have strong feelings about - is 7 years old, or older (probably) - not part of a major franchise (usually) - less than 2hrs 22mins (mostly) Co-Hosts Ben and Paul watch this movie as well, then all parties gather to rate, discuss, and give a final rerating to the film.

Starring: Geena Davis (The Fly), Jeff Goldblum (The Fly), Jim Carrey (In Living Color), Damon Wayans (In Living Color), and Julie Brown. How horny can a PG rated movie get REALLY? Defending Your Life / Albert Eats Purgatory (Guest: David Parke)
The Review Review
08/31/23 • 92 min
Audio editor, Father, and fellow Podcast host ("Jimmy Eat Pod" A deep dive into the catalog of Jimmy Eat World) David Parke piles into the tram to Judgement City with us to examine "Defending Your Life" (1991) from Writer/Director Albert Brooks. Starring: Albert Brooks, Meryl Streep, Rip Torn, and Lee Grant. We pontificate on the who, what, where, when, and I a life is on trial, and the little things we just can't forget (hard 4). Join us on many asides, and forgive a few technical difficulties. Fear not, it's a classic episode, that'll get you on to our next try
Plot: In an afterlife way-station resembling a major city, the lives of the recently deceased are examined in a court-like setting.

Starship Troopers / Pauls, Party of Two - Bday Special!
The Review Review
08/09/23 • 107 min
Welcome to the party, pals! (pause) PAUL'S PRETTY PUNCTUAL PARTY! Where we pay our respects to another Paul, Dir: Paul Verhoeven, and his 1997 sci-fi/satire/war film "Starship Troopers." (Based on the novel by Robert Heinlein) Starring: Casper Van Dien, Denise Richards, Neil Patrick Harris, and Michael Ironside. Can a propaganda film, be wrapped in a propaganda film, and then wrapped in a delicious tortilla of satire? If not, well, they sure as hell tried. We discuss - the odds, military ranking based on acting ability, the beauty of the grey (embrace the “groutfit”), and of course HARDCORE NUDITY.
Plot: Humans in a fascist, militaristic future wage war with giant alien bugs

The Review Review
01/24/24 • 107 min
Former drone operator, plant dad, and "What Are We Watching?" (Matthew Fosket) fanboy, Travis Samson puts it in Cruise Control ®️ for a Review Review of "Days of Thunder." (1990 Dir. Tony Scott ) Starring: Robert Duvall, Michael Rooker, Nicole Kidman, and featuring ...Tom Cruise! We run circles for what must be 500 laps about the who/what/where/when/why of this highly produced 90s vanity piece. Look, we’re gonna eat something, then we’re gonna make some phone calls, then we’ll be back, alright?
Plot: A young hot-shot stock car driver gets his chance to compete at the top level.

And yet again, we ask the question...Paul's NOT a pro athlete?

Shaun of the Dead / So Go Back to the Cluuub
The Review Review
10/23/24 • 91 min
Stick around pull up a bar stool, and open the pig snacks, cause we're in the annals for "Shaun of the Dead." (D. Edgar Wright 2004) Starring: Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and Bill Nighy. We break down what the Director/Writer, and tagline describe as "a romcom with zombies," whoops, zed word. Favorites in The Edgar Wright pantheon, the general Evil Dead pantheon, even THE VERY SUBJECT OF THE EPISODE! That's right, this one has it all, and a Drumstick ©️ for your Trick or Treat bucket. So, get in the Jag, and let's haul ass to the Winchester!
