Retro Re-View Episode #10: USWA 2/27/1993 (A GIANT Surprise & PG-13 Debuts!)

Retro Wrestling Re-View is back for Episode #10 covering the February 27, 1993 episode of USWA Championship Wrestling! Last week at the Mid-South Coliseum, Lex Luger managed to duck out of the way just in time to avoid an ENORMOUS fireball thrown by 'the King' Jerry Lawler, unfortunately his tag team partner Brian Christopher was standing right behind him and took the fire to the face instead! The Harris Brothers hit the ring and beat down Jerry Lawler, Jeff Jarrett, and their manager Downtown Bruno after the match leading to them looking for revenge this week against Brian Christopher and the Harris Twins! Downtown Bruno said that Brian Christopher has "friends in low places" but Bruno, well....he has friends "in high places....about EIGHT FEET HIGH!" You'll never guess who Downtown Bruno is bringing to Memphis to team with Jerry Lawler & Jeff Jarrett....check out the episode to find out! PLUS: The war between the Gilbert Brothers rages on as Eddie has decided it's "time to bear down" on his little brother Doug. We have a couple of promising live matches in the studio as Eddie Gilbert takes on Brian Christopher, and Doug Gilbert wrestles Jeff Jarrett! We also see Miss Texas in action against the Shadow, and the in-ring television debut of J.C. Ice & Sir Wolfie D, PG-13!

Retro Re-View Episode #11: With Guests Bob Smith & "Dangerous" Doug Gilbert
This week we have a very special episode of the Retro Wrestling Re-View as Gene Jackson is joined by TWO special guests! The first guest is the former managing editor of Pro Wrestling Illustrated and is currently the host of the popular podcast, The Outdated Wrestling Hour, of course we're talking about Bob Smith! Gene and Bob talk about a variety of retro pro wrestling related topics, most notably when Bob traveled down to Memphis and appeared on the July 13, 1991 episode of USWA Championship Wrestling in a memorable segment involving Jerry 'the King' Lawler and Leatherface! Bob got a chance to go behind the scenes and spend a few days on the road with the USWA attending three shows and he has some fun stories from his Tennessee excursion! Then from there, we get back to our current podcast topic of USWA in 1993 when Gene is joined by "Dangerous" Doug Gilbert to discuss his 1993 feud with his brother "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert, they talk about how and why it came about and what it meant to Doug to get a chance to work an angle on Memphis TV with his brother.
