PIO #33 - Played It Once - Cosmic Frog

Today we discuss Cosmic Frog by Devious Weasel Games designed by Jim Felli! Cosmic Frog is a game of collection, combat, and theft on a planetary scale. Each player controls a two-mile-tall, immortal, invulnerable frog-like creature that exists solely to gather terrain from the Shards of Aeth, the fragments of a long-ago shattered world. Throughout the game, you're free to keep to yourself and focus on harvesting at your own pace...or you may attack other frogs and try to take lands directly from their gullets. The game ends when the Shard is stripped of all harvestable land or when a Splinter shatters it. When the game ends, the player with the highest valued vault wins.(Description provided by the publisher.)

PIO #34 - Played It Once - Air, Land, & Sea

Today we discuss Air, Land, & Sea by Arcane Wonders designed by Jon Perry! In Air, Land, & Sea, two players participate in a series of Battles, with the objective to control two of the three Theaters of war. At the start of each battle, you will be dealt a hand of six cards. All cards can either be played face-up or face-down. Playing a card face-up triggers an ability, while face-down cards don’t. Players take turns playing Battle cards one at a time, until all cards have been played, or one player decides to withdraw. Victory points are awarded at the end of each Battle based on the results, and the first player to 12 victory points wins the war! (Description provided by the publisher.)
