The Postmugglism Podcast - Hades In Aquarius

03/15/23 • 40 min

Pluto's move into Aquarius portends some very dark, and very revealing, years ahead, particularly as science and technology integrate more deeply with every aspect of our lives. The dwarf planet's strange elliptical orbit lasts 248 years and causes it to spend different amounts of time in each sign. It's been in Capricorn since the 2008 financial crisis and is moving out now during another financial crisis (among other things) and into Aquarius.
Capricorn is an earth sign and signifies physical, material things, structure, order, and so on, and Aquarius is an air sign, which signifies cerebral things, ideas, plans, science, technology, and perhaps most importantly, the digital world.
Pluto, on the other hand, is the name of the Roman god of the Underworld -whom the Greeks call Hades- and he rules the land of the dead obviously, but also that other meaning of the word "underworld" -crime; especially the organized kind. As Hades / Pluto moves into Aquarius, the dark, corrupt, and hidden parts of our science and technology will come to light and their rotten cores revealed.
This is a necessary process the universe has to go through, occasionally digging up and revealing the dirty secrets which allow the powerful of the present day to subjugate the future of the world. Still, from our perspective, it's going to be a bit scary and unpleasant; particularly if you enjoy liberty and speaking your truth.
But it's important to keep in mind that Pluto's always lurking somewhere in the sky -and can only be in one area of the chart a time. In this transit, Pluto occupies Aquarius for over 20 years, so there's no getting around it and no point in living in fear. You just need to understand what to expect from Pluto in Aquarius and how to navigate your way through the worst of it.
In this first of a series of three episodes titled,"Hades In Aquarius," I'm going to introduce the idea and importance of Pluto's ingress in Aquarius in late March, 2023, and explain the bad -and the good- of what's to come, so that you can plan accordingly, make informed choices, and protect your family in the storms to come.

A crisis has been brewing in the scientific community for years now that calls into question a great deal about what we believe about humanity, our future, and how we navigate uncertainty. There are many contributing factors, like scientific fraud, carelessness, ambition, and so on, but the bottom line is that a great deal of the experiments described in journal papers -these are the studies that define our current understanding of science- cannot be replicated.
When we base medical treatments, or social policy, around science based on peer-reviewed studies, and then those studies turn out to be fabricated, or irreproducible, there is often a significant human cost to the error. Multiply this impact across every field of scientific inquiry and it is difficult to take materialist-rationalist worldview very seriously.
There is nothing wrong with science but a lot wrong with how we go about doing science in the modern age, and it has been co-opted by the powers of hegemony to keep the rich wealthy and the powerful in power. But this is about more than just greed...it's about what dreams our worldviews allow to come into being.
In this episode, part 1 of a 2-part series, I'll show exactly why science has failed us, how it all went wrong, who benefits, and where it's all going.
The science of today isn't about discovering truth. It's about turning certain beliefs into facts to manipulate public consciousness. Science, like religion before it, has become the opiate of the masses.

The Postmugglism Podcast - The Munay-Ki Rites

The Munay-Ki Rites

The Postmugglism Podcast

play

10/06/23 • 48 min

The magical landscape is filled with pitfalls and distractions which lead to overinflated egos and self-aggrandizement and the initiations of various magical orders are rarely what they're cracked up to be. But it can be very difficult as a spiritual seeker to tell what's authentic and what's just performative until you're immersed in what could end up either a delusional waste of time -or a culturally appropriative mess.
The Munay-Ki Rites are a glowing example of an authentic and effective initiatory experience which has the power to change your life but doesn't require you to adopt a new theosophy, take any awkward oaths, or join some stodgy, overly-politicized magical order. They're inspired by ancient Incan traditions, embodied in a modern-context in the Q'ero people of the Amazon, whose "paqos", or medicine men and women, have kept alive their cultural and magical heritage of sacred Earth stewardship through hundreds of years of colonial rule.
The Q'ero did so by hiding themselves high in the Andes mountains and keeping a low profile until the 1950s when they emerged to fulfill a prophecy and announce the beginning of an age of realignment, called a Patchacuti, which we are all now living through. The last patchacuti occurred when the conquistadors came to the Americas and enslaved the indigenous people and this one will see those of us in the West awaken to our karmic debt and our cosmic responsibility to stewardship of the Earth.
After their emergence various paqo elders began building bridges to the people of the West, through various neoshamanic spiritual leaders and personalities, such as Alberto Villoldo of The Four Winds Institute. The Munay-Ki rites are a byproduct of the collaboration of elder Don Manuel Quispe and Alberto; whom he took as a student and gave the traditional Q'ero initiations.
They worked together to adapt these same initiations for a Western framework of mind; to build a bridge we can follow to activate our energetic bodies, enhance our natural healing abilities and extrasensory perception, deepen our faith and our connection with spirit, and to move back into right relationship with Mother Earth and our role in the cosmos.
These initiations are available to anyone and designed, as a gift of reconciliation from the Q'ero to us, to help the lost people of the West find their way back to the embrace of a living universe that loves them and needs their collaboration. In this episode we take a deep dive into these rites: their history and origins, each of the 10 individual rites and their benefits, and how they work together as a whole to affect you in gradual, but astonishing, ways.

The Great Escape Pt. 1

02/06/23 • 41 min

Westerners are starting to wake up to the fact that the world they grew up in has changed and isn't coming back. We're watching our privacy, liberty, and freedom to choose how we want to live erode right out from under us and many of us have made, or are at least considering, the hard choice to move away from the urban centers, institutions, and even family and friends, to build a better future elsewhere in the world.
For some that means moving from cities to rural areas, for others it means moving to a new country -and often into the developing world. But this isn't just about moving to a new place -it's a shift to a new way of life that's in alignment with our values and allows us to prioritize health, happiness, and living in right relationship to the Earth. Where this journey takes place is different for each of us but the story is essentially the same.
History shows us that humans migrate to where there is the greatest freedom and opportunity -and for the last hundred years that was, as often as not, into the west. Now, at the turning of the age, the tides have turned and freedom-loving people are fleeing Western society and, in many cases, Western cities and countries as well.
I affectionately refer to this migration event as "The Great Escape" because my wife and I are taking part in it ourselves. Others refer to it as "exit and build", speaking of exiting society and building a life as independent of mainstream society as possible. As of this episode, my wife and I have already "exited" and are beginning to build, so I have lots to say -and to share- on the topic.
Drawing from our own experiences planning, moving internationally, establishing ourselves in a new place, and finding land to acquire; and on all the magic that it took to get us here, this first of two episodes dives deep into what it takes to exit mainstream society and start to build a new life in a new place. The next episode will completes the story by looking forward at the territory directly ahead and how my family plans to navigate the trouble waters of the future and all the magical strategies we're considering.
Learn about my family's journey and why we've decided to build a homestead and magical sanctuary in the jungle while getting a firsthand look at what it's like to plan (and execute) your own Great Escape.

The Postmugglism Podcast - Results Driven Magic

Results Driven Magic

08/16/23 • 35 min

Magic is all fun little experiments and spooky games until you really need it one day. It's good to have a devotional practice, and we should all say our prayers, but sometimes you gotta pull out the big guns and work some real Magic (with a capital 'M').
The ancient grimoires are full of magic for very practical concerns: love, money, sex, power, favor from kings, and so on. Our most ancient magic called upon the seasons and the spirits of animals so that we could feed ourselves and, eventually, grow wealthy.
"Results driven magic" means magic that attempts to create specific, measurable changes that can be tracked and assessed after-the-fact, so that you can learn from your attempts and improve over time.
Without some kind of a system for keeping track of your spells and rituals it's too easy to forget the work you've done or to look at the outcome through rose-tinted glasses. However, it's all good to say it and another thing to actually do it...which depends on how you personally structure your spells and rituals.
In this episode I'm going to share some of the lessons I learned on my way to getting my magic work work consistently, tips on how to set up your spells and rituals to make them easier to evaluate, and when and how layer on additional magic to get the outcomes you want.
Tune in for the 20th episode of The Postmugglism Podcast, a deep dive into the most practical of magical subjects: how to become more effective at driving results with magic.

The Religion Of Science Pt. 2

The Postmugglism Podcast

07/05/23 • 72 min

Where Part 1 of this series was dedicated to the replication crisis and the corruption of science for profit and power, Part 2 will explore how the true believers of a new religion have co-opted scientific and political institutions around the globe to force radical changes upon humanity and propel us towards a dark, dystopian future.
This is a wild story that begins at the end, where we're living through this time of transition, showing the results of a half century's worth of work by globalists, Silicon Valley, central bankers, pharmaceutical companies, billionaires, science fiction writers, and radical futurists, among others.
We'll walk through their clever grift to see, step by step, how science has been turned into religion and how the dogma of this new religion is being enforced on us through public policy and social convention.
Then we flashback to the beginning of this emergent ideology and get to know the men and women who've built the demiurgic mind prison of progressive futurism, brick by brick, in the social consciousness.
The religion of science weaponizes its dogma, as religions tend to do, to consolidate power, reinforce its ideology, and suppress dissent or conflicting evidence. A new breed of holy inquisition is on the horizon so it is essential that we recognize the difference between empirical science and imperial dogma; and see its hand at work in the world.
Because with that understanding we can process what's happening to us with total clarity, discern truth from propaganda, and adapt our ways of being and knowing the world. And that's where we conclude Part 2 of The Religion Of Science; with my thoughts on how to navigate the dark and stormy waters ahead, how to choose a different path, and how to make choices when you're forced to question everything.

05/24/23 • 41 min

This is the story of how I discovered my purpose, and passion, and how my wife and I got started on our grand adventure to build sanctuary and a permaculture food forest in the tropical Riviera Maya in Mexico. From psychedelics and spirit communication to crossroads dirt and jungle spirits, it's a one-way trip into wild places that changed the course of our lives and the core of our spiritual praxis.
It's a story filled with time loops, synchronicities, uncanny fortune, and experimental sorcery. In this episode I trace the threads of fate that wove together to make me who I am today; from the fairy magic of the movie Fern Gully planting seeds in my young mind, to a fated encounter at the ruins of the ancient Mayan city of Tulum, to a few years ago when I finally put all the pieces together with mushroom tea and gardening.
I went looking for purpose and found that I had been feeling a call into the wild for decades -and not just anywhere- but the heavily damaged jungles along the Mexican Caribbean; victim to over a hundred years of destructive forestry and extractive farming practices brought on by colonialism.
It was in this uniquely beautiful, but equally damaged, expanse of jungle that has not yet been converted into condos or commercial centers, that we've invested our savings and committed our future.
We've partnered with its spirits and spend our days dreaming of ways to fulfill our ultimate goal: to create a living example of a regenerative homestead and food forest filled with all kinds of plant, animal, and insect species to showcase how biodiversity is the key to reclaiming damaged ecosystems and healing the earth.
Get the inside story on our adventure: where we came from and where we're going -and the magic I've learned along the way- the earthly magic of spirits of place, or "dirt sorcery" as I call it. What it is, how it works, and what it's good for...
This is a fun story for me to tell because it's mine -and it's not a dull one. So join me to explore fated journeys, the call of the wild, nature spirits, and experimental sorcery in episode 14 of the Postmugglism Podcast.

The Postmugglism Podcast - The Sacred Supply Chain

The Sacred Supply Chain

The Postmugglism Podcast

play

01/31/23 • 37 min

Once you start looking, it's everywhere. Nearly all the products we use in our daily lives are trying to kill us. From food to personal hygiene to cleaning supplies, our world is polluted with chemicals from the industrial processes which produce the goods we use.
Is just this what's necessary to support an overpopulated and overburdened world? Not at all...this is the product of decades of work by some of the world's largest companies, in a race to control the supply of our basic hierarchy of needs.
This is just what happens when human beings isolate themselves from the participating in their supply chains -when you buy everything in a box at a store, you have no idea what you're putting in your body, where it came from, or how it was prepared. Modern society has worked hard to tear down the local relationships which, historically, have always supported basic human needs in favor of industrialization and globalization. But we're starting to understand the cost of this choice, both physically and spiritually -the loss of our autonomy and our health.
The most egregious examples of this plot for global control of food, water, and other essential resources can be found in the industrial agriculture industry; namely with the behemoth Bayer-Monsanto (an unholy alliance of the giant corporations in the pharmaceutical and industrial agriculture markets). And while companies like Bayer-Monsanto aren't the exclusive source of evil in the world...they are possibly the ones we most urgently need to be aware of.
And that is because their footprint is so massive, and their products so integrated into our supply chain that recent tests have shown their highly carcinogenic and otherwise toxic chemicals to be present in nearly all our foods and goods, as well as the vast majority of water and air samples, human tissue, and our urine.
Even worse, these companies are also doing their best to own the very DNA of our food supply, committing various crimes around the world to replace heirloom seed stocks with their own. Sadly these expensive GMO seed subscriptions force farmers to grow crops which are less pest-resistant and produce less nutritious fruits and vegetables.
All of this trickles down to the consumer in horrifying ways: inferior foods, poisons in our foods, water, and the goods we use to care for ourselves and our families, the loss of plant species, suppression of organic alternatives and small-farms, etc... It all translates to control over your food supply -and diet is essential to health.
In this episode I discuss the alternative to this corporate death machine and its central supply chain and how taking personal responsibility for your supply chain enables you to re-enter relationship with it -to make it sacred once again.

The Postmugglism Podcast - Ambassadors For Spirit

Ambassadors For Spirit

The Postmugglism Podcast

play

02/27/23 • 44 min

We get into magic for all kinds of reasons: to experience the divine, to discover our fate, and to shift reality in our favor. And regardless of your point of origin into the world of magic and the so-called "occult", the magical path tends to lead you into the service of spirits in one way or another. We may be drawn here for personal power but what we find is collective purpose (with the more-than-human world).
This path is not for everyone. Most people just want to live in the "mundane" world without being forced to constantly question reality -and their own sanity. But the magically-operant are a different breed and trading a small piece of our sanity to glimpse behind the curtain of reality is a fair trade.
From time immemorial (since the way back when) a minority of dangerously curious humans have been called to learn the art and science of negotiating with spirit; and in so doing become magicians, or workers of magic. We magicians are the only humans with the requisite knowledge and experience to navigate the strange and murky waters of the imaginal / spiritual realms and return with something useful.
This role, that of the wizard, sorcerer, witch, and shaman, has largely been forgotten by human society, much to our misfortune and the imbalance of the cosmos. As modern magical practitioners, we are mostly unaware of this responsibility, since society barely tolerates our high strangeness anyway. Yet, the fractured nature of reality these days is evidence of this very responsibility, neglected.
From our untended dead to offended nature spirits, the people of the so-called "Western" nations have placed ourselves at odds with most of the more-than-human world; thinking ourselves the pinnacle of consciousness in the universe. And the result of our anthropocentrism has been to isolate ourselves from the rest of a benign and quintessentially helpful universe.
Forgetting our place in the cosmos also means forgetting our unity with its community of beings, and this separation causes imbalance which manifests as a loss of coherence -as reality coming apart at the seams.
To bring ourselves back into coherence we have to remember that we're connected to everything else, and enter into these relationships intentionally and with total reciprocity. But then, again, most humans don't "speak spirit" -most humans have no concept of how to engage with spirit effectively.
In this episode I discuss the idea that magicians are "ambassadors for spirit" or intermediaries between flesh and spirit, carrying and translating messages to and from the spirit realm on behalf of the people who are otherwise incapable and, playing this role, we help bring humans and spirits into right relationship and to work out their differences positively.

04/12/23 • 43 min

Since time immemorial, humanity has charted its path through the ages using the night sky as our guide. We sailed the seas, built temples aligned to the stars, and gave life to the constellations through our collective myths. The stars are guiding lights, speaking to us in stories, as peoples and nations, and as individuals as well.
In ancient times, when we sailed the sea, we used the stars to find our way. And though we have GPS now for our physical travels, there is still no better guide through the unknown lands of the future than the zodiac and its astrology. Astrology tells us about the forces that will be active in a given moment, what is likely to succeed, and what is not -to the world as a whole, and also in our very personal lives.
But astrology is complex and difficult to parse and everyone has different takes on what each new configuration of the heavens is going to bring us. So how do we use astrology, practically, to foretell and plan out our lives?
The key is understanding not only where the planets are in the sky and how they relate to each other but also where they are in your natal (birth) chart and what that means to you as an individual. And, by using more advanced methods to see how your chart evolves throughout your life, and how your personal destiny and fate are inscribed in the motions of the luminaries, planets, and stars.
In this episode, I'm going to share my personal approach to predictive astrology and how my wife and I have learned these techniques by navigating our own, rather adventurous, story of trading our old suburban life to follow our dreams to build sanctuary in the Yucatán jungle.
We'll discuss basic predictive astrology; looking at the position of celestials in the sky vs in your birth chart to understand how to easily personalize astrology to see what it means for you. And we'll look at 3 advanced techniques that reveal how your personal astrology evolves over the course of your life.
You don't have to be an astrologer to benefit from understanding how predictive astrology works. Tune in to learn how a few simple techniques can help you navigate life's challenges with grace and always keep the winds of fortune at your back.
