It’s an all Canadian episode this week on the podcast as we get ready to celebrate Canada Day.

Breakfast with Scot can be streamed on CBC Gems
Dawn, Her Dad and the Tractor can be streamed on Crave.
If sitting out in the sunshine and flipping through the pages of a good book is more your speed, we talk about ‘Pageboy’, the memoir from @elliotpage, and ‘The 38 Impossible Loves of Naoko Nishizawa’ by @monnamcdiarmidwrites , two fantastic books by Canadian authors.
Check out Monna McDiarmid here —> https://monnamcdiarmid.com
And what are outdoor festivities with out music? This week we take a listen to and talk about @tamingsariband’s amazing sophomore album, ‘My Heart, My Love’.
Give it a listen wherever you gets your music.
We then play a Canadian version of stuck on a deserted island, picking one movie, one tv series, one album and one book that we would take with us to keep us entertained if we were stranded and alone.
We end the episode with a wonderful chat with @thespacebetweenofficial, a stellar hard rock three piece from Ottawa, coming in fresh off the release of the first EP, that EP’s release party and a nomination for best Newcomers of the Year at this years Capital Music Awards.
Stick around at the end of the episode to hear their song 'Time', off their new album.
Enjoy!!

Season 2 Comes yo an End
The Pop Cult EX-perience
12/17/21 • 78 min
It's our final episode of season 2, and in it we say good bye to a literary legend we say hell to the final season of The Expanse and in between we do all that other babbling and rambling we tend to do.,
Enjoy!
Guardians of the False Peak
The Pop Cult EX-perience
05/09/23 • 88 min
On this week's episode we take a look at some of the headlines from around the interwebs. Writers are on strike, sequels are in the works, folk are following Gunn from Marvel to DC, Pedro continues to be everywhere, and Carrie Fisher goes from being among the stars to having one of her own on the walk of fame.
Following that we review Dredge, a horror inspired, narrative driven, resource gathering fishing game. Sisu, a stylish Finnish action romp, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, possibly the best Marvel movie to date.
We end this week's episode having a nice little chat with The False Peak, an alt rock three-piece out of the UK,
Enjoy.
Episode 94 - Vesper the English Vampire.
The Pop Cult EX-perience
11/25/22 • 79 min
Another week, another episode.
RRR gets another R, Margot Robbie loses her arrrrrrrr, Tarantino has a lot to say, horror megapowers unite, Disney trades one Bob for another Bob, Blade finds direction, and I think we have an impromptu conversation about Batmen,
After all that nonsense we give out Flying F..ks to Somerville on Xbox, and God of War: Ragnarok and Days Gone for Playstation. as well as The English, the new Interview With a Vampire series, and no indie sci-fi flick, Vesper.
Enjoy.

The Things We Like
The Pop Cult EX-perience

Annnnnd here’s a new episode just for you! We share some news announcements including upcoming tech, an album release, livestream show, casting, and a virtual film festival that’s opening with a film about a lovely group of dancing dudes from the Maritimes called The Bhangra Boys. One tidbit that surfaced has K SUPER stoked. There are a fair amount of streaming suggestions too, from a star-studded drama to a LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special (no no, not THAT one).
T reviews Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order as it showed up on Game Pass. Much to our chagrin, we continue to be unimpressed with season 2 of The Mandalorian, and share the whys of that. The Simon Says assignments had K sampling Mike Tyson Mysteries and T sharing his thoughts on the Good Omens limited series.
We tell you why psychologists think taking trips down pop culture memory lane is good for your mental health and take a little journey of our own back to the days of compilation CDs like Frosh and Big Shiny Tunes.
Our last segment is one of our most favourite, Hidden Treasures and Guilty Pleasures. T tells us why folk have been wrong to pan the sci-fi war film Battle: Los Angeles, and K talks about one of her favourite humorous novels (and novelists), a perfectly apt-for-the-season read, The Stupidest Angel by Christpher Moore.
One of the things we love to do most is to give independent artists a chance to share their work, and so we finish the recording off with Cevilain’s awesome cover of Miley Cyrus’ Midnight Sky (thanks guys!).
We hope you enjoy!
