From starting as a graduate assistant coach to leading the McKendree University men's basketball program as the 26th head coach, Suggs' meteoric rise is nothing short of remarkable.

In his very first season at the helm, he orchestrated a historic 14-12 overall record and a groundbreaking 9-11 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Bearcats made history by securing their first-ever GLVC Tournament win.

But the story doesn't end there. Last year, in Suggs' second season, McKendree went on to clinch their first GLVC championship and embarked on a thrilling journey in the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the Midwest Regional Finals. It marked the program's first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament, catapulting the Bearcats to greater heights.

Suggs' coaching brilliance was acknowledged with the HoopDirt Division II Men's Basketball Coach of the Month award, and his mentorship saw Bryson Bultman shine as the league's top scorer, earning First-Team All-GLVC and Second-Team All-Region honors in his first season.

As a former player at Bellarmine University, Suggs is intimately familiar with the GLVC, having earned All-GLVC and Defensive Player of the Year accolades during his time there. Now, he's seamlessly translated his basketball knowledge and on-court experience into the coaching arena.
