This episode documents the amazing inventor Hedy Lamarr. Hedy was not only one of the most beautiful women in the world in the 1930's but she also invented the precursor to wifi, GPS and the internet (amongst other things). Despite this invention being valued at 30 billion dollars today she never received a penny. This is a tailer for The People that Time Forgot podcast. These are people that have been written out of history, forgotten about or just lost in the mist of time. Aisling Hurley and Niamh Quinn (the Irish team behind TBF Digital Marketing Agency) are determined to put this wrong right with lots of laughs along the way. You probably shouldn't listen if you're already enraged. #TTFN #FIJDI

Pod 3 Nellie Bly The Original Investigative Journalist
Nellie Bly became hugely famous in 1887 when she went undercover to report a story for The New York World newspaper. This was an undercover assignment for which she agreed to feign insanity to investigate reports of brutality and neglect at the Women's Lunatic Asylum on Blackwell's Island. Despite being in perfect health, four doctors along her entrance route to Blackwells Island pronounced her ‘positively demented’. The result of Nelly’s undercover work led to a grand jury investigation, the addition of extra funding for those suffering from mental illness in New York and an overhaul of the horrific system.
The people that time forgot is a weekly crusade podcast by Irish team Aisling Hurley and Niamh Quinn. Throughout history people have been written off, written out or just plain forgotten. Some of these people are pretty cool so we are righting this great wrong and documenting them here and we have a lot of fun while we're doing it. In normal life Aisling & Niamh are the team behind TBF (The Business Fairy) Digital Marketing Agency with Aisling being a writer and a frequent radio contributor and co-presenter. #TTFN #FIJDI Chat to us over on Twitter or Facebook @tbfcentral
