PMP #162: 5 Ways to have more freedom in life
The Paul Minors Podcast: Productivity, Business & Self-Improvement
01/26/20 • 9 min
We all want to be happy, right? But the trouble with pursuing happiness is that it’s so vague. Happiness comes from so many things. For example, feeling fulfilled by how we spend our time, removing stress and conflict from our lives, from relationships and feelings of contentment.
If I just tell you to “be happy” that’s not very helpful. Instead, you need to focus on one of these prerequisites to happiness.
I could write a blog post about either one of these things. But today, I’m going to talk about how a focus on freedom will result in more happiness in your life.

PMP #112: How To "reduce Friction" in your work environment
The Paul Minors Podcast: Productivity, Business & Self-Improvement
01/13/19 • 11 min
After my interview with Miles last week, I got thinking about how to improve my home office set up. In the interview, we briefly discussed Mileses recording set up and after recording, I went about improving my own home office.
One of the things Mile’s said that really struck a chord with me was this idea of “reducing friction”. I love this idea and thinking about how you can minimise obstacles that stand between you and your work. I’ve been subconsciously doing this for a while, but since the interview, I’ve made an extra effort to optimise my workspace.

PMP #107: How one customer made over $10,000 in his first month of consulting
The Paul Minors Podcast: Productivity, Business & Self-Improvement
12/02/18 • 19 min
A few weeks ago I caught up a friend and previous customer of mine, Gareth Pronovost. Gareth purchased my How to become a "virtual consultant" program after being laid off and is now an Airtable Consultant. What's amazing is Gareth made over $10,000 in his first month of consulting. It's been great following Gareth's progress to see what's possible in the world of "virtual consulting".
Enjoy this interview with Gareth. He has some great advice around trying different things and the importance of focusing on a niche specialty.

PMP #204: Why I like to 'Float' once a month
The Paul Minors Podcast: Productivity, Business & Self-Improvement
03/07/21 • 13 min
About 6 months ago I started ‘Floating’ on a regular basis. Floating is where you lie in a tank of warm, salty water in pitch dark and absolute silence. The high-density of the saline solution makes you feel weightless and the absence of light and sound eliminates all distractions. This is known as ‘sensory deprivation’.
What’s the point in all this?
When you eliminate all senses this supports deep relaxation, stress relief, and even creative thinking.
I did my first float a number of years ago just to give it a try really. But lately, I’ve been floating once a month and have come to really enjoy the benefits.
In this episode, I’d like to share my experience with floating and if you’ve never tried it before, I’d highly recommend treating yourself to at least one session to see if it’s something you can benefit from.

PMP #288: Don't put all your eggs in one basket
The Paul Minors Podcast: Productivity, Business & Self-Improvement
10/15/23 • 11 min
Today, I wanted to share a story that illustrates exactly why you shouldn't put all your eggs into one basket. Especially when it comes to your income.
Either as a business owner or a salaried employee, don't put all your eggs in one basket. Meaning, don't get all of your income from one source. You never know when something may happen and the rug gets pulled out from underneath you. By having a few sources of revenue or a side hustle, diversification is the key to protecting yourself.

PMP #246: What are the "hidden costs"
The Paul Minors Podcast: Productivity, Business & Self-Improvement
03/27/22 • 8 min
Every decision you make comes with a cost. And I don’t just mean a financial cost. I’m talking about costs in the form of time, health, stress, energy and relationships. In other words, every decision you make comes with trade-offs. Our goal should be to make decisions that maximise return for as little cost as possible (whatever the costs may be)

I've been working with Josh and his team since July, helping them to systemise their business using Pipedrive, Asana and Zapier. They've been great to work with and so for the first time ever, I decided to interview a client for my podcast.

PMP #163: Follow the process
The Paul Minors Podcast: Productivity, Business & Self-Improvement
02/02/20 • 15 min
Whenever I’ve worked with customers who tell me they have ‘too much to do’ or they’re feeling overwhelmed, I usually find they haven’t created processes that help them to do their work.
Without a process, it’s very easy to get lost and confused in all the work that you’re doing. It’s like trying to navigate without a map, you’re basically just guessing where to go and what to do.
