Today I'll be discussing a conversation I had with my hairstylist, Jay. We were discussing how having children makes a person more aware of the world around them and makes them more mature. During the silent periods of my cut, I came up with the title and wanted to share my thoughts and ideas with you.

Shakespeare's Julius Caesar Act 2, Scene 2:
“Cowards die many times before their deaths;
The valiant never taste of death but once.
Of all the wonders that I yet have heard,
It seems to me most strange that men should fear;
Seeing that death, a necessary end,
Will come when it will come.”

A couple days ago, I was listening to the Michael Knowles Show and, near the end, he had an interview with Cabot Phillips. Cabot brought up a concern regarding low sperm counts across the globe and mentioned that no one is covering it, so I thought I would throw my hat into the ring. This episode shares my perspective. Thematic quote for this segment - “Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times.” The quote, from a postapocalyptic novel by the author G. Michael Hopf , sums up a stunningly pervasive cyclical vision of history.
I'm going to post this again in case you've already forgotten, but it's a great quote:
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” It’s a quote routinely attributed to Edmund Burke. But it turns out falsely so. Apparently, he never uttered these words. At best, the essence of the quote can be traced back to the utilitarian philosopher John Stuart Mill, who delivered an 1867 inaugural address at the University of St. Andrews and stated: “Let not any one pacify his conscience by the delusion that he can do no harm if he takes no part, and forms no opinion. Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing. He is not a good man who, without a protest, allows wrong to be committed in his name, and with the means which he helps to supply, because he will not trouble himself to use his mind on the subject.”

Isaiah 54:17 - “No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their vindication is from Me,” declares the LORD.

The song, "Rich Men North of Richmond," is a great song. No wonder it went viral and turned a veteran into a rising star. However, when asked about his song, Oliver said he was criticizing the GOP members in the 1st primary debate. He said he thought it was funny that conservatives were trying to connect with him because he was talking about the GOP in the song. This episode is about how and why he's wrong: He's a conservative whether he wants to admit it or not. Let me know what you think. Enjoy.
