The Paranormal and The Sacred Radio Show - Sacred Sunday Presents~James Chapter 3/A Teacher Tongue Lashing!
play

12/11/16 • 27 min

James 3 Summary Those Who Can't Do, Teach Not everyone is cut out to be a teacher like James. Oh, really?Teachers have to watch what they do and say at all times because people are just waiting for them to screw up. Well, it's sort of true. But teachers also make mistakes. Tons of them. Sometimes it's hard to keep control of your tongue.A person's tongue is the rudder on a ship. It's a little tiny piece tucked away under the boat, but it can steer the whole vessel through uncharted waters. The tongue is pretty small, too, but it can take you to some amazing places. It's sort of like how a whole forest can go up in flames just from a few matches. Our tongues are like tiny fires ready to set the world ablaze. Stand back! But an unruly tongue can produce good words and bad words. We say all kinds of good things about God with our mouths. But then we talk bad about his creations—other people—in the same breath. How rude!Folks really shouldn't be doing this, says James. It makes as much sense as having a faucet that pours out pure, sparkling water on one day and then raw sewage on another. Gross. If you're smart, then you'll be humble and kind. But if you've got the wrong kind of wisdom (the devilish kind), then you'll be a bitter, envious, selfish, clawing, liar. Yikes. The bad kind of wisdom can wreck the world. The good kind can bring peace and sunshine and rainbows to everyone. Thanks to shmoop.com

The Paranormal and The Sacred Radio Show - Louisa Oakley Green~ Author/Sightseeing in The Undiscovered Country
play

07/09/16 • 119 min

Louisa Oakly Green "It isn’t often something occurs that turns your sense of reality on its side. But that’s just what happened to me more than 20 years ago when I met my psychic husband, Stephen. I’ve worked as a journalist and science writer. And back in those days I was also a strong skeptic about anything paranormal. But the universe has a sense of humor and I ended up falling in love with a quirky guy who, other than thinking he was psychic, seemed reasonably normal. Oh, and he also came from a family of psychics. They didn’t do readings for a living. They all had normal jobs. But they had this ability....After a while I found myself surrounded by remarkable clairvoyants and mediums, so I began referring to myself as a psychic bystander. (Did I mention that I have no detectable psychic ability myself?) Over the years, I experienced events through his family and friends that just couldn’t be explained. It piqued my curiosity and I eventually decided to write my first book in the Psychic BystanderTM series, Loitering at the Gate to Eternity: Memoirs of a Psychic Bystander. It retells more than 100 true stories from everyday people about their psychic experiences—including out-of-body adventures, premonitions, contact with the dead, reincarnation and more. The fact-based side of me added the history of many of these phenomena through the millennia in various cultures". http://www.psychicbystander.com/

The Paranormal and The Sacred Radio Show - John B. Alexander, Ph.D.~Author/Scientist/Researcher/Adventurer
play

06/27/15 • 120 min

John B. Alexander, Ph.D. Dr. John Alexander, author of the book The Warrior's Edge, has a long history of traveling a fine line between traditional sciences and studying various phenomena. He has been judicious in applying a scientifically trained, critical eye while personally encountering many situations that defy conventional explanations. Still, he remains focused on pursuing a path of knowledge that is likely to change how many people view the world. On this path there have been many adventures. Developing a deep interest in near-death studies, John Alexander completed his doctoral work under the world famous Dr. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross. He went on to become the president of the International Association for Near-Death Studies then-located at the University of Connecticut. As always, he split his efforts and continued a pragmatic path helping to create Children’s Hospice International, an organization dedicated to assisting children who are facing life-threatening illnesses and their families. For that effort he received a President’s Award for Volunteer Action from President Ronald Reagan. Until recently he worked part-time for the National Institute for Discovery Science a private research organization dedicated to exploring the UFO topic. His book, UFOs: Myths, Conspiracies, and Realities had been released by St. Martin’s Press, February 2011. To this day, Dr. Alexander continues his search. He calls it as he sees it. He has little use for conspiracy theorists, true believers who take in everything without questioning, or scoffers who refuse to accept facts no matter how persuasive. For nine years he served, as a councilor for the Society for Scientific Exploration is a past president of the International Association for Near Death Studies, and a founding board member of the International Remote Viewer's Association. Paul of Tarsus: Professional House Sitter The apostles are like house sitters taking care of God's place while he's temporarily out of town. Sure, you have to check the references for your house sitter, but other than that, you're good. And Paul's references—namely Jesus—are pretty ironclad. That's why the Corinthians shouldn't judge his work against the work of others. God has already vouched for him. It's not like Paul is never going to face judgment—but that, friends, is up to God himself. In short: don't do God's job for him, Corinthians. But then again, Paul tells them, maybe it's cool for you guys to judge in God's place because you're so amazing. Sarcasm alert! After all, the Corinthians are the greatest, right? They're rich as kings! They have power and wisdom and strength and everyone loves them! They're the best! (Not.) And the poor apostles—like Paul—are just poor and weak and hungry and thirsty and homeless and beaten and weary and... okay, we get it Paul. Daddy Dearest Look, Paul says, sarcastic comments aside, he's not trying to be a jerk. He doesn't want to embarrass the Corinthians or make them feel bad. Um, okay... He's kind of acting like their dad. Um, Paul, isn't that God's metaphor? Paul watches over them along with Jesus like a father. So do as he says, kids. Paul tells them that he's sending Timothy to Corinth so that he can remind the little children of the church how they should be acting. And if Paul doesn't hear a good report... well, then, he is going to have to come down there, young church! And he might be bringing his belt with him. Run, kids! Thanks to www.shmoop.com

TINA MARIE CAOUETTE Tina's a native of Massachusetts, but moved to Las Vegas in 2008 with her three loveable golden retrievers. That moved was a significant turning point in her life for a number of reasons but, the biggest, her recent UFO as well as abduction experiences that occurred while living in the outskirts of sin city. These occurrences have completely transformed the way she lives her life today and directed her to writing her first fiction book Alien Deceptions in 2011. A novel, as she describes it, as fiction based on fact. It has also lead her on a path of discovering the truth or at least her version of it, behind this mysterious phenomenon. Tina spent a couple of years with the Las Vegas UFO Hunters, and started with them Majestic 12 TV. Tina spent her off hours as a MUFON investigator. Living in Las Vegas gave her a unique opportunity to investigate local sightings. However, many of these reports were very much explainable as local air traffic and Venus. It airs every Friday night at Midnight Pacific Standard time for two hours and now is the number one paranormal show in the Las Vegas Valley. Tina is also in the process of moving her show over to her own Radio Network KCOR Radio that you can listen to worldwide at www.kcorradio.com. Tina has also joined forces with The Otherside Press and will be writing a monthly article on their site called, Walking Up in Dreamland. Bastia Marlowe Bastia Marlowe was born in and grew up in New Orleans, LA under another name. There, she lived amongst the living and the dead, spent her early adolescence immersed in rain, attended Catholic church, and roamed the city's haunted and flavored streets. She loved all things New Orleans and once stood in line for 5 hours to be included in the film adaption of fellow New Orleanian Anne Rice's "Interview with a Vampire." After a stint of performing theater and writing, she moved to Los Angeles in 2001 in her 20s hoping to experience ghosts but mainly exists among the walking dead. She mostly misses Audubon Park, the low-hanging branches of trees lining St. Charles Ave., stage lights, hole-in-the-wall restaurants, NOMA, driving through City Park, creaky floors in old houses, old cemeteries, and rain. Bastia Marlowe is the great-grand daughter of Marie Laveau. About Marie Catherine Laveau (September 10, 1801 - June 16, 1881 ) was a practitioner of Voodoo renowned in New Orleans. (As for the date of her birth, while popular sources often say 1794, the records indicate 1801.) Her daughter, Marie Laveau II, (1827 c. 1895) also practiced Voudoun, as well as Voodoo. She and her mother had great influence over their multiracial following. In 1874 as many as twelve thousand spectators, both black and white, swarmed to the shores of Lake Pontchartrain to catch a glimpse of Marie Laveau II performing her legendary rites on St. John's Eve (June 23–24)

Welcome Church! We are here every Sunday to read the Bible, tell personal stories and pray together because when two or more are gathered.....In a non-judgemental down to earth format. God bless you every one! This week is Acts chapter 11 Peter Explains His Actions The apostles and the believers throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God. So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcised believers criticized him and said, “You went into the house of uncircumcised men and ate with them.” Starting from the beginning, Peter told them the whole story: “I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision. I saw something like a large sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came down to where I was. I looked into it and saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, reptiles and birds. Then I heard a voice telling me, ‘Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.’ Gentiles Are Accepted Back in Judea, word reaches the apostles and Jewish followers of Jesus that Peter has been baptizing Gentiles. The horror!Later, when Peter comes back into town, he has some 'splaining to do.Peter tells them all about the vision and that God said unclean things are now a-okay.He explains that it was God who let the Holy Spirit fall on the Gentiles while he was speaking. What was Peter supposed to do?Stop God from giving out his gifts? Good luck with that. The other apostles are speechless, but then they realize this is actually a great thing. God wants to save everyone.

The Paranormal and The Sacred Radio Show - Jude 1~Hey, Jude! Sacred Sunday Bible Study

Jude 1~Hey, Jude! Sacred Sunday Bible Study

The Paranormal and The Sacred Radio Show

play

08/31/20 • 40 min

Jude 1. If he were related to Jesus, he's just like James and Peter in that he doesn't include any personal stories about J.C. No recollections of a childhood spent playing with G.I. Joes by the Sea of Galilee or stories about how it's tough trying to live up to your brother. Especially when that brother is the only begotten son of God. Talk about sibling rivalry. Write On Next question: did Jude, a brother of James and Jesus, really write this epistle? Another blood relative penning biblical books? Based on the fact that none of our authors have been have been 100% authentic so far, you might be thinking...no. And you mght be right. Or not. Jude kind of falls into a gray area. Quite a few scholars think the letter could have been written by a guy named Jude who lived in Palestine in the years just after Jesus' death. He's using a Hebrew translation of the Hebrew Bible (which would have been way more popular in Judea than the Greek version). He's also way into the Book of Enoch—a bit of Jewish literature about the end of the world that was popular back in the day. It was light reading on a warm Jerusalem night. But on the no side, scholars point to the passage about "the salvation we share" (Jude 1:3). That's an idea that probably would have come around after all the original apostles had died. It takes a while to open things up to everyone, after all. Most scholars lean towards the Jude-wrote-it camp. Think about it. If you're gonna fake a letter, it makes more sense to say the author is the Apostle Paul or St. Peter or James, the brother of Jesus. But Jude? He's not that big of a player in the 1st-century church to attract notice—even he has to cling to James's coattails by telling us they're related. We're not saying he's a nobody, but his name isn't packing the people in their seats either. If the real Jude is the author, that means that this is a pretty old letter. It also means that 2 Peter is actually copying Jude. Well, Jude got a book in the Bible! Cool!
