TV News is an interesting world; fast paced, ever-shifting, and moving place to place. Stephanie Smith was working in a big TV market and initially had designs on staying... but that's about the time that God told her that it was time to move on.
He will do that; give you your next move without telling you what's beyond that. While it may seem crazy to some, that is exactly what faith and obedience are all about.

In this episode I have the pleasure of re-introducing you to Dr. Greg Smalley (He and his wife were on a previous episode). He's quite the expert in all matters of counseling and psychology, and he has some incredible insights about how depression can play a huge role in marriages and families. He also has written at least a dozen books on marriage and relationships.
We are looking at various aspects of depression for the entire month of June in a series I'm calling, "The June Gloom". If you know someone dealing with depression or anxiety, please share these episodes; your concern could be the thing that encourages that person to seek the right kind of help.

In this special bonus Christmas episode, sing and song writer Ross King joins me to discuss his song, Bethlehem. It's such a great reminder of the humble beginnings of Christ and how we approach the celebration of his birth.
Merry Christmas!

As a follow up to the series about regular bible reading, I will be bringing a series of shows all about prayer...

  • What is it?
  • What is it not?
  • How can I have a dialogue with the Creator of everything?

If you struggle with prayer, I hope that you learn along with me as we dive into this topic!
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7

This episode takes you behind the police crime scene tape into situations where people are in need of someone who can show great compassion and care. My guest, Jared Altic, is a chaplain with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department. He's also a pastor at Wyandotte County Christian Church.
Anyone in this kind of work has to rely on a calling to be present for people who might be dealing with their worst day ever, as well as being available to police officers who are in the trenches trying to keep the peace and solve horrendous crimes.

In this episode, Tim Shelton from Seek Well returns to the show to talk about how our rhythms with God, spending time with God in the Word, and being intentional are so critical for a healthy relationship with Jesus. You will learn some key elements in starting your own healthy patterns of drawing in closer to God.
