Today we talk with Karina Hawley as she talks about her transition from dance to Pilates. Please join me in hearing how Katrina kept her passion for movement as a constant in her journey. Katrina is a Certified Pilates Teacher by the Pilates Mehod Alliance. She is also a graduate of the Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation Program. Katrina studied Somatic Movement approaches under Janis Pforsich, Aliza Shapiro, Charlotte Wile, Irene Dowd and Martha Eddy. From 2005-2010 Katrina was on the Board of Directors for the International Somatic Movement Education & Therapy Association (ISMETA) and now continues to be an ISMETA Registered Somatic Movement Educator (RSME). Katrina teaches Laban Movement Analysis and Pilates at the University of Hartford’s Hartt School in the Dance Division. Timothy Kuzmeski “Timothy K” was born in Hartford, Connecticut and showed great promise early on. In middle school he was already winning awards in national design competitions in architectural design and drafting. A passion for fine art and the human figure spurred the switch from architecture to fashion design where he earned the gold key award in the national portfolio competition and entrance to the nation’s top art schools.At the Pratt Institute of Design, he earned an apprenticeship with the East Village couturier Garo Sparo, eventually earning the position as his couture assistant and dressmaker, a position that in combination with other positions in company’s such as Chado Ralph Rucci, would prove invaluable through the knowledge he would gain over the course of the next couple years. In May 2010, he graduated with a BFA. in fashion design from the Pratt Institute of Design in NYC. His senior thesis collection earned him the Renee Hunter evening wear award, work within the Viktor & Rolf atelier in Europe and other prestigious industry honors. He's been featured in publications, newspapers, websites, and blogs across the nation.The House of Timothy K was officially created in 2010 as a merging of talents amongst a group of young artists under the design direction of Timothy Kuzmeski following his acclaimed undergraduate collection, “Opus 1.” ”Using the human body as its natural canvas, each garment is designed with structure and craftsmanship in mind before being hand-constructed in studio. The end result is a piece of clothing which transcends modern standards and is not only wearable, but could stand on it’s own as a work of fine art. This creative process, he says, is the most self-rewarding because he finds it to be the most difficult.

How do forgotten, interrupted, or false stories affect your life? What do you do when you feel "stuck in the past" but don't know how to move forward? How can you confidently voice your truth? Narrative Coaching is a mindful voicing and listening that can then be brought into all other relationships. It allows participants to discover the answers they already hold, in a creative approach and within a nurturing relationship. Narratology is the study of story, and how we give and take meaning from our lives and come to understand our worlds. Gail Noppe-Brandon, LMSW, MPA, MA has over 25 years of experience in narratology. She is a published playwright and was the first ever recipient of the Drama League’s Grant for New Works. Gail is author of three books and is a featured Communication Coach on PBS. A documentary film about her work received the Chris Award at the Columbus International Film Festival. Her Narrative Coaching method has been endorsed by such organizations as the Heyman Center for Philanthropy, Bank Street and Hunter Colleges, and the New York City Department of Education. Gail is a master teacher who has received five Carnegie Awards for Excellence, as well as an award from the President’s Council on the Humanities. She is currently in clinical practice at the JBFCS Manhattan Greenberg Center and coaches individuals and groups privately.

Dr. Bradford Eichwald graduated from the National College of Chiropractic in 2001 and received his chiropractic license in Massachusetts on February 14, 2002. Dr. Eichwald earned his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Duke University in 1981. Jennifer Eremeeva is an American writer, photographer, Russian historian, blogger, and humor and cooking columnist based in Moscow Russia. In 2009, Jennifer created the award-winning blog “Dividing My Time: Finding The Funnier Side of Life in Russia,” which highlights humorous aspects of her life in Russia, her cross-cultural marriage and offers up very digestible doses of Russian history, culture, politics, literature and her own wry observations of daily life in the world’s largest country. In 2011, Jennifer parlayed her passion for running great food to ground in Moscow in The Moscovore, an English-language site dedicated to gathering cooking resources, news, and recipes together in one place. Jennifer is a regular contributor to The Voice of Russia, BBC Russia Service, and is the Cooking and Humor columnist for “Russia Beyond The Headlines:” a monthly color supplement to The Washington Post, The Daily Telegraph, The Times of India and others. Jennifer was born in Oklahoma City, and raised and educated in New England and the United Kingdom. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Russian Area Studies from Columbia University in 1989. Jennifer’s professional life featured a decade and a half in the Travel & Tourism industry. She also served as Head of External Relations with United Financial Group (UFG) a major Russian investment bank from 2003 – 2006 through its strategic sale to Deutsche Bank.
