E8. He Spent 71 Years In an Iron Lung And Learned We Have It Backwards (POWERFUL)
The Most Motivational Podcast09/19/24 • 14 min
These are the five most powerful lessons I learned from Paul Alexander, the person who has spent the longest amount of time living in an iron lung. During the 71 YEARS he lived in the iron lung, he became a lawyer, author, and advocate.
Paul contracted polio when he was a child and was one of the worst cases ever recorded. The virus paralyzed him from the neck down, causing him to be unable to breath without the support of the iron lung.
He spent the next 71 years in this machine. Paul struggled with many challenges. When power would go out, he would be left unable to breathe. He could be lonely and isolated. The only way he could write was by using a pen in his mouth.
This didn't stop him, and instead of being stuck in his challenges, he used them to learn important lessons we often learn too late. By embracing these 5 IMPORTANT LESSONS, Paul was able to earn three degrees, become a successful lawyer, write a bestselling book, and inspire people around the world.
Paul died in March 2024 at the age of 78, but his legacy will live on forever.
