Djuna Osborne, MSW, LCSW is a psychotherapist in private practice based in Roanoke, VA. She works with compassionate professionals - medical residents, attending physicians, entrepreneurs and other therapists - to help them cultivate their hearts and their minds so they can have greater confidence, prevent and work through burnout, and feel happy and fulfilled both in their professions and with themselves. As the spouse of a physician, Djuna lived through her husband's medical school and residency while simultaneously working in a hospital and obtaining her clinical training. She is keenly aware of the unique pressures of medicine and the way that our core values of "doing what is right" can be in conflict with organizational norms. In this episode, we get to hear from three therapists who share their experience with Stepping it UP in a time of Covid-19, despite difficult circumstances.

There's Rachel, who returned from maternity leave right when shelter-in-place started. Rather than falling into despair, she continued to build her practice with clients who were eager and ready to work with her.

There's Sadie who, not only lost 85% of her caseload when she went virtual, but she then lost her "stable" hospital job. Where many people would scrimp and save looking for someone else to get them out of this mess, Sadie tripled DOWN by investing her time AND money into learning how to market.

More about Jeremy:

Jeremy Sharp opened his private practice in Colorado in 2009. It was slow-going at first, but his practice exploded over night due to a change in the local university's policy involving ADHD medication. Jeremy scrambled to hire the best local grad students and trained them to conduct testing and evaluations. Thus began the long hours of running his busy private practice and spending less time with his family. Jeremy was burnt out and he had to make a change, and he did!

In 2017, he started his consulting business, The Testing Psychologist. Although he still has his private practice, Jeremy now also works with testing psychologist to build their testing and assessment services in their own practice. He takes the pain he experienced and his knowledge of mindset shifts and breaking down the numbers, to help testing psychologists overcome the same feelings of overwhelm and isolation.
