Mar. 1st, 2021 – In this episode, the ladies sit down with a good friend of Lauren’s who had 3 of her 4 children at home with the help of a midwife. Lauren Pew is a mother to 4, trained doula and a mother who was seeking a better experience after her 1st delivery in the hospital. Lauren shares why she chose to pursue an at-home birth and the learning path that it sent her on. She recommends a few of her favorite books on the subject and walks the girls through one of her at-home experiences. She talks about laboring in the bathtub & shower, how the delivery went, the pain management methods she used and how it was such a bonding experience for her and her husband. Throughout the course of the episode, the girls ask many of those practical questions you’re wondering – “How bad does it hurt?” “Were you anxious?” “What’s your backup plan?” “What happens to the placenta” “Does the midwife care for the baby” “Did you tear?” Lauren does a wonderful job of sharing her honest insights and both Sarah & Lauren came away having learned so much about at-home deliveries and natural childbirth in general. The girls close out the show with their weekly hits & misses. Sarah shares how she made a music video with her kids and Lauren reports on the parent-teacher conference she had that week.
