Wildcat 100
The Mile You're In
09/15/20 • 37 min
On Labor Day weekend, I ran the Wildcat Ultra 100 mile race for the third consecutive year. The weather was hotter and runners were dropping left and right. Would it get the best of me or could I persevere? Listen to my experience running my seventh overall 100 mile race. The lessons learned, the highs and lows, the good and the bad.

It's Better To Fail Trying
The Mile You're In
01/21/21 • 39 min
Last weekend I chased four goals again while running the Long Haul 100 mile race. Although I failed to accomplish three of them, I learned more about myself by accomplishing the fourth. There are some goals and dreams we want to accomplish but we don't want to do what it takes to accomplish them. Many of us want the end result without having to put in the work to get there. This is an episode to encourage and motivate everyone to chase their dreams instead of others. A reminder that while we're still living, we have time to reach them as long as we don't quit, and keep trying.

Running Is BS
The Mile You're In

Inspired by the Running Is BS podcast. This is a humorously vent filled episode about the top 5 things that I love to hate about running. Perhaps you can even relate to some of these. You can also enjoy a parody song by Stewart from the Running Is BS podcast.

Challenges With Sponsors
The Mile You're In
09/16/21 • 48 min
As a professional runner, getting a sponsorship can be a big deal. Whether it's clothing and gear, races and travel, media opportunities or more, every little bit helps. Unfortunately, in a sport that isn't as popular and funded as other professional sports, running provides limited opportunities, making it harder to get selected by brands. Special guest, Olympic Trial competitor Brenna Detra joins me as we discuss the struggles and challenges that come with obtaining sponsorships including her personal experiences.

Long Haul 100
The Mile You're In
01/25/20 • 38 min
I recap my experience from the Long Haul 100. A 100 mile trail race in Florida. Everything from camping out the night before to crossing the finish line. With a sub 30 hour finish I would qualify for Western States. With a sub 28:38 finish I would get a personal record. Follow along the journey as I describe the trail, the atmosphere, the highs, the lows and find out if I was able to accomplish the timed goals.

Redeeming Yourself
The Mile You're In
01/14/20 • 14 min
I discuss redeeming yourself after having a bad race or simply a race that didn't go as planned or hoped for. In life and in running, if we don't succeed, no matter how many times we've tried, we should be encouraged to learn from our mistakes and try again. We shouldn't accept failure and should attempt to redeem ourselves while aiming to improve.
I discuss races at 4 different distances where I was disappointed and came back to redeem the previous experience. Some went well, some didn't. Some took multiple attempts. It's all about getting better each day and having faith that you can reach your goals.

In life, you have to know when it's okay to walk away, even from something you love. The end of one journey always leads to the beginning of another. Special guest Chanelle Price joins me to discuss her faith in God and how it helped navigate her through her track and field journey. We talked about everything from multiple injuries, Olympic Trial disappointments, her recent decision to retire, getting engaged and her future. We also discussed her special relationship with Sabrina Stanley on and off the track.
