The Love in a Cottage Podcast

The Love in a Cottage Podcast

Paige Geidel

How do I pursue Jesus in my marriage? How do I meet new friends now that I’m married? Am I ready to become a mom? How will marriage change once I have a baby? How can I create a home and a life that I love while staying youthful and enjoying my 20s? Welcome to Love in a Cottage where we will discuss all of these topics and more! Each week, host Paige Geidel brings you honest conversations with wives and mamas along with her personal experiences and stories from marriage and motherhood to encourage you on your journey. Paige navigates topics like friendship, postpartum anxiety and depression, intentional parenting, contentment in seasons of hardship, mental health in marriage, dating and so much more. We know the early years of marriage and motherhood can be challenging, but we believe that God can use each and every season of our lives to grow us, to teach us, and to shape us into the women that He created us to be. If you find yourself craving a community of women who are married, mothering in their 20s, and passionately following Jesus, then Love in a Cottage is for you. Pull up a seat, grab a cup of coffee and get ready to be encouraged.

This week's chat is with Audrey Coats! Audrey is a wife, soon-to-be-mother, and holistic health coach living in Denver, Colorado. In our conversation, Audrey opens up about her health journey, which kickstarted when she was in high school and doctors discovered a large tumor. From there, the Lord has led her through seasons of learning about women's hormones and minerals. Now, she walks alongside other women on the same path toward healing and wholeness. We discuss the tension of pursuing health and healing as a follower of Jesus living in a sinful world. Finally, Audrey shares about her miscarriage which she had in 2024. She shares about the grief that she and her husband experienced and how God met her in the midst of a traumatic time. (And praise God, Audrey is currently 27 weeks pregnant at the release of this episode!)

Today's conversation is with my "real life" friend, Mia DiMare! Mia and her family live in Florida where her husband attends seminary and she stays at home raising her two toddlers. In this episode, you'll hear Mia share her love for English interiors and how she is creating a beautiful home one thrift store at a time. Going deeper, she reflects on the struggles of building community at church in the early days of marriage, as well as what life looks like in their current season with her husband Stephen in seminary. Mia then shares how God led her to ultimately give up her career as a traveling wedding photographer in order to stay at home with her kids and support her husband in this current season. I'm personally grateful for Mia's friendship and wisdom, and I'm honored to share her story and introduce her to you!

This week's conversation is with returning guest Alexandria Smith! Alex is a wife and mother to four living on a farm in South Carolina. In today's episode, I pick Alex's brain on a number of things, including what it looks like to establish rhythms as a family, how to feed our families well, and how she approaches clothing her children, especially since she has both boys and girls. We also touch on how she spends time with Jesus throughout the day as a homeschooling mother to four. This episode is very practical, and I hope that the tips and stories she shares will leave you feeling inspired to try something new in your home!
