The Return of the King #1
12/23/20 • 44 min
Hi. Me again. You'll just have to guess who out of the four I'm referring too. Feeling nostalgic as I post our second to last podcast of the series. Will we revisit any of the movies? Unsure. Will we do the Hobbit movies? No clue. Will I continue to receive student loan forgiveness? Unknown.
But something that we can depend on is that the first The Return of the King episode is HERE. The final confrontation between the forces of good and evil fighting for control of the future of Middle-earth. Frodo and Sam reach Mordor in their quest to destroy the One Ring, while Aragorn leads the forces of good against Sauron's evil army at the stone city of Minas Tirith. Nice summary right? I can't take credit. Thanks jwelch5742 from IMBD.
Thanks as always for listening to the rants, the rambles, and the back cracks that happen starting at minute 43:34 seconds if you're into that kind of thing.
We hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a happy, (much better) new year!
See you in 2021.
Love,
Jennie, Erica, Melissa, & Maya

The Two Towers #2
This movie is a doozy. Lots to unpack. We've got Sam, Frodo, and Gollum captured by Faramir and his motley crew of guys who might also have daddy issues. Then there's Merry and Pip, galavanting with an Ent who honestly isn't convinced that they aren't actually orcs and of course Gimli, Aragorn, and Legolas trying desperately to protect the people of Rohan in a fortress that DOESN'T HAVE AN EMERGENCY EXIT? Who decided that move? Who called that shot? I need answers! We learn lots about our friends in Middle Earth in this movie. Someone is 87, and I'll give you a hint, it's not Gandalf. Speaking of Gandalf, where is he??
Does anyone read these? I'm glad you're here and glad that you found us. Drop us a review or subscribe so you never miss one of our episodes!
We had fun recording, and sincerely hope you have fun listening!

The Return of the King #2
We made it! Can you believe it?? I can't. Planning around four grown adult schedules is HARD. But cheers- we are here!
We left off with Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas recruiting the army of the dead living in the shadows. Meanwhile Frodo is fighting off a giant spider, and Merry and Éowyn are fighting the demographic odds by riding with the armies of Rohan to Minas Tirith. It is safe to say, the battle for Middle Earth has begun and so has my migraine because the editing is no joke.
Because of how long and dense these movies are, we aren't able to get to every single plot point and have all the wise things to say. This episode is evidence of that. Peter Jackson isn't playing around with this one. Like... we had time for a dinner and a glass of wine, and Jackson gave us a Thanksgiving meal plus biblical and moral allegories sprinkled in between appetizers and the main course and who has time for that Peter??? And put some shoes on!!!!
If you've been here from the beginning, we love you and are extremely grateful for you and how you love these movies just as much as us. Stick around, we aren't done yet! Check out Erica's solo podcast show "The Movie Buffs!"

“Your time may come. Do not be too sad, Sam. You cannot be always torn in two. You will have to be one and whole, for many years. You have so much to enjoy and to be, and to do.”
