Night Prayer in Lent, 6B

03/22/21 • 24 min

The Liturgy of the Hours

By Luther Seminary Chapel and Augsburg University Campus Ministry.

We move closer to Jesus and his cross. Sufjan Stevens sings: “there is no shade in the shadow of the cross.” The cross is where suffering is revealed...and then refracted to healing.

The brokenness of the world, of ourselves, is not ultimate. Jesus went the way of pain, turning suffering to healing; separation to community; death to life. We are led this week by Nate Crary and Luther Seminary student Hannah Sackett.

Night Prayer in Lent, 5B

Welcome to the Liturgy of the Hours, by Luther Seminary Chapel and Augsburg University Campus Ministry.

It has been one year since we last worshipped together in the Chapel of the Incarnation. We mark this difficult anniversary as we continue our way through this season of Lent.

Night prayer invites to reflect on the losses we have endured. We gather as community, apart but united.

This week we are led by liturgists Michael Morris, Green Bouzard, and Luther Seminary student Sumner Musolf.

Holy Week Compline

The Liturgy of the Hours by Luther Seminary Chapel and Augsburg University Campus Ministry

Holy Week

Using liturgy and hymns adapted from Evangelical Lutheran Worship, scripture from the New Revised Standard Version, a blessing from Julian of Norwich, and original compositions, Andy and Pastor Elise Pokel offer this week’s night prayer: Holy Week through Mary’s eyes, heart, voice, and body.

There is grief here; grief and joy.

The lullaby of Mary for her son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
