The LEGACY Right - The Sharpe Way w/ Larry Sharpe

The Sharpe Way w/ Larry Sharpe

07/28/23 • 62 min

The LEGACY Right
As an agorist I never care to think of the political tools that can be used to subvert the State. I'm a cynic to my ways of antipolitics, but I am still a pragmatic when it comes to providing a path toward more libertarian means. This is why I am glad to have Larry Sharpe come onto The LEGACY Right as he is that pervader of realist thought. Perhaps their are ways to use the system to destroy itself. In fact, Larry goes into his policy initiative in fixing NY for the decades to come. And we discuss why politics is best used to get the press to be attentive. His gubernatorial campaigns are more to spread the movement of localism. And policy can be just as "counter economic" in preserving entitlement services through private and public competition. I hope you enjoy this episode with the Libertarian great, 2x Gubernatorial candidate for New York, host of Sharpe's Way, a Marine, Bronx native and a most definite leader in the liberty movement; Larry Sharpe! Thank you for tuing into The LEGACY Right! For all your woodworking and milling assortments head to fangornforesters.com. American Cronyism w/ Dr. Patrick Newman

Andrew and Zak invite Dr. Patrick Newman onto The LEGACY Right to discuss the topic of American cronyism, diving into the early days of the United States in his struggle between libertarian ideals and the corruption of power. This span on Dr. Newman's book titled, "Cronyism: Liberty versus Power in Early America, 1607-1849". From the clash of the centrist Hamiltonians with the radical revolutionaries such as Jefferson and Patrick Henry for which even they could not escape the absolutism of power. The libertarian movement fought hard to supplant the "federalist" monopoly of control for the special interests of a few leading up to the Jacksonian takeover of the nation. But even the libertarians could not withstand the allure of the one ring of absolution and power. The imperialism and the centralization upon the market was molded heavily by the shining star of the United States constitution. We also learn that Patrick intends on this work to be a project leading up into modern times and is currently writing the second part, so stay tuned. Honorable mentions include Lysander Spooner, Fredriac Bastiat and Grover Cleveland as well as the Roosevelts. Be sure to cop your copy as an ebook download on Mises.org or head to Amazon to purchase Patrick's masterpiece. History needs to be taught the right way because we know it isn't being taught in government schools. You can find and follow Patrick on Twitter @DrPatrickNewman.
