Lisa Foster - The Legacy Project with Jim Copple
The Legacy Project with Jim Copple

Recently, I met with 10 women and 10 men who were in a pre-release from prison program. On average each of them were required to pay $20,000 in fines and fees before they could get their driver's license. Fines and fees make being poor a crime. Lisa Foster who is the co-founder and co-director of The Fines & Fees Justice Center which is an organization that works to eliminate fees in the justice system and ensure that fines are equitably imposed and enforced. Lisa is an advocate for the poor and a strong voice and advocate for hope. I really enjoyed talking with her about legacy and I know that you will too.

Josephine Powers - The Legacy Project with Jim Copple

This interview has been one of my favorites so far. I was able to interview Josephine Powers, an Air Force Veteran and former Michigan State Trooper who spent a year and half in Afghanistan training Afghan women to become police officers. Her first assignment was teaching them to read, write, and to do simple math. She talked about the resilience, strength, passion and curiosity like she has never seen in the Afghan women she worked with. I loved talking with Josephine, I hope you will enjoy listening to this conversation.

I had the pleasure of interviewing my friend Sam Owen in Nairobi, Kenya. He's one of the most significant influencers and connectors I have ever met. In this interview we hear about the legacies Sam has inherited as well as the legacies he's leaving behind. Sam mentions names such as Jomo Kenyatta, Thurgood Marshall, Billy Graham as well as a pretty important event in Kenya known as "The Handshake."
