The Lambs skim through movies they saw, heard about or can make an educated guess on, to throw some light on this year's Academy Awards. MovieRob hosts the discussion as we try to figure out what was good and what was simply available for this year's nominees.

Episode 649: Lambcast #646 NOPE
The LAMBcast
07/24/22 • 92 min
On their way to the podcast, two of our guests apparently looked up against all the advice of OJ Haywood, and they never made it to the show. Richard and Lisa however, carry on and talk about the new Jordan Peele horror film and they have a more general discussion about horror movies as well. So don't stand there waiting for the metal probe. No special equipment from Fry's is required. Listen here or download now.

The Peter Jackson Films are the subject of our annual MOTM Franchise Lookback. Heather Baxendale-Walsh assembles a new fellowship to travel through Middle earth and highlight the things that make this series essential. Because the film talk was so involved, we skip a game, Rants/Raves/Reviews, and heck, we don't take a break or give you an ad. This is all LOTR all the time. Two Hours and Twenty Minutes is probably easier to do than the nearly twelve hours it would take to watch all the films, but after listening to the show you will probably want to do just that.

Lambpardy! July 2022
The LAMBcast
07/15/22 • 51 min
It's Lambpardy time again! We're racing through the first round of this year's tournament - there's only two games left after this one! Three more contestants battle it out for movie trivia glory - one played in the very first game of Lambpardy over a decade ago, one joined the LAMB so he could play, and the other is the regular host of the show, with a special guest stepping in to temporary hosting duties. It's a game for the ages, folks, so strap in, it's a rollercoaster!
This month the contestants are:
Jason Soto - Rabbit Hole Podcasts
Roger Wistar - Road House Minute
Jay Cluitt - Life vs Film, Deep Blue Sea: The Podcast, Con Air: The Podcast
Host:
Todd Liebenow - Forgotten Filmcast

Episode 636: Lambcast #636 "Go" MOTM
The LAMBcast
05/16/22 • 57 min
Director Doug Liman does his best Tarantino Impression with this drug crime comedy from 1999. Ashley Ullom championed the movie so as a first time guest on the show she also got to be the host. She came through with flying colors. We had a hard out on the recording time so we skipped a game and kept the podcast short. So if you like Raves, Drug Humor, Sarah Polley, Jay Mohr, Timothy Olyphant, Scott Wolf, Taye Diggs, Katie Holmes or the Great William Fichtner, then you should join us for a breezy discussion of the film and some talk about raves and other related movies as well.

Hello Everyone, and welcome to the dystopia that is Episode 719. I’m your Host Judge Kirkham. For January, that Movie is “Dredd”, the 2012 action dystopia featuring Karl Urban as the masked executioner of Justice. In addition to myself, we have three other Jurists on the show today, to dispense sentences on the perpetrators of this film. Listen and be Judged. Also, Sequels that we really wanted to see.

Jay Cluitt is back to Host the Lambcast for this Nicolas Cage Extravaganza. His posse consists of two Y chromosome challenged Lambs, the always excellent Jeanette Ward and the equally wonderful Heather Baxendale Walsh. The three of them have only love for the subject of today's show but they is do enjoy speculating about casting and imagining who other than Nick Cage could pull this off. Jay has a game that is so long, we severed it from the regular show and stuck it in as an outtake. So you can listen to it then, Not that you went anywhere.

Well it happened again, The Vern won the Movie of the Month Poll and we got a film that is likely to be divisive. Exactly the way Vern wants it. "The Neon Demon" is a 2016 film from "Drive" director Nicolas Winding Refn. It may be a cautionary tale about the fashion industry, it may be a horror film, or it may simply be repulsive. Matthew Simpson, James Wilson and The Vern have very different views of the film. Whether or not you want to hang a single frame from the film on your wall as art, will depend first on whether you can stomach some of the ideas and scenes in the movie. Beauty isn't everything. It's the only thing. Are you high?

Episode 647: Lambcast #644 Thor Love and Thunder
The LAMBcast
07/11/22 • 81 min
It's been hardly anytime at all since our last MCU film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has only been in theaters 66 days, but already we seem to be ready for another comic book movie. This week, the stand alone film features Thor, in a chapter directed by Taika Waititi who had previously done "Ragnarok". We have a group of Gods taking a break from being worshipped on their home sites, to talk about this film. There are three comic book experts and two guys who last read comic books fifty or so years ago, and we head to town to cover "Thor Love and Thunder". Come have a listen, If you don't, you won't be invited to the Orgy!

Episode 654: Lambcast #651 Decade Lookback 1973
The LAMBcast
08/29/22 • 139 min
This is the sixth Decade Lookback Episode we have done, and let's just say it, 1973 cleans every other years clock so far. There is such a plethora of great films that "The Sting", "American Graffiti" , ""Save the Tiger", "Scarecrow", "Serpico", "The Last Detail" did not make the top five list of anybody on the show. It is such a great diverse year, that there was only one "Pineapple Kiosk" in the twenty five films that were discussed. And with Howard Casner and David Brook on the show, we got more non English language films than you can shake a stick at. It may take years for us to find as many films for a single show that people were passionate about. Dave Anderson and Todd Liebenow tried to keep Richard honest, but let's just say enthusiasm was everywhere. You should come and get some rubbed off on you.
