Human | Tribes, Tongues & Nations - What's so Amazing About Race?
The Keswick Convention Podcast
05/19/23 • 54 min
What do we mean when we use the word 'race'? How can the church encourage unity and welcome for all? What was going on with the Tower of Babel?
In this episode, we explore the amazing theology of race and ethnicity and discuss how the Bible speaks to our understanding of a global church made in God's image. No matter what our culture and ethnicity, Jesus affirms the uniqueness of our race, language and who we are.
We're joined by Rev Dr Israel Olofinjana (Director of the One People Commission of the Evangelical Alliance), Efrem Buckle (Deputy CEO and Director of Training and Mentoring at London City Mission, and Ruth Naomi Floyd (Jazz vocalist and composer) all of whom will be at Keswick Convention 2023 in the summer.

Grateful for my Identity in Christ?
The Keswick Convention Podcast
05/20/22 • 52 min
Here we go. Brass tacks folks! How are we genuinely grateful for our identity in Christ? We've heard it as a nut-shell phrase but how do we go about living out this identity and being grateful? What about when it's really hard and we just don't see it? Or it all just feels theoretical? We start by defining our terms and understanding why and how we've got here with our identity and hear from Professor Glynn Harrison and Author and speaker Karen Soole on our identity in Christ and how on earth we can be grateful for it. As ever, chit-chat and 'what does this feel like for you and me' with Rachel Redeemed and Jam Cary.

Dr Sharon Hastings - faith in the darkness
The Keswick Convention Podcast
06/24/21 • 38 min
Sharon, a medical doctor and someone who has walked a difficult road with a variety of severe and enduring mental health struggles shares how she has leaned on the Lord through her journey. She shares her love of psalm 13, the how and why of her new book 'Wrestling with my thoughts' as well as the struggle to see herself as more than a diagnosis... and what we as church family can do to help those in similiar situations.
Sharon Hastings is absolutely passionate about helping anyone who suffers from 'severe and enduring mental illness' (SEMI): schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and schizoaffective disorder. She wants the church to know all about these illnesses: how they devastate ordinary people and how they need to be treated.

Human | What is my purpose? The rat race, leisure and meaning of life.
The Keswick Convention Podcast
04/21/23 • 40 min
Work hard or play hard? We all at times wrestle with the purpose of our time, work, relationships and life. As Christians, we know that the Bible should answer these questions for us, but this isn't always easy to apply to our own lives.
In this episode, we delve into this big topic on the theme of Human, exploring what God tells us about our purpose as we are made in his image, and as we live out our faith in every aspect of our life.
We speak with Sam Allberry (pastor, apologist, author), John Wyatt (Professor of Ethics and Perinatology at University College London and University College London), and Andy Robinson (Training Director for South Central Gospel Partnership) ahead of Keswick Convention 2023.

Human | Self-esteem and self-worth: Why bearing God's image is good news for us
The Keswick Convention Podcast
04/07/23 • 36 min
Am I good enough as I am? What does it mean to be made in God’s image? What even is to be human? How do we live out our Christian faith in an age of flattery, self-actualisation and narcissism?

Join Matthew Mason (Pastors' Academy, Crosslands Cultivate), Professor John Wyatt (Professor of Ethics and Perinatology at University College London and University College London), Ros Clarke (Priscilla Programme, Church Society), and Ben Cooper (Cornhill Training Course) as we interview Keswick Convention speakers, exploring the human obsession with building self-esteem and how the Bible speaks into this culture.
