The Joyful Hour

The Joyful Hour

Bianca Erickson

We bring you wellness and personal development insight and information along with empowering and inspiring stories of people who are living their truth. The information is compelling and cutting edge, and the stories are meaningful and authentic. The threads that run through our episodes are healing, purpose and authentic self-expression. According to neuroscience, joy is our natural emotional state. Meaning that being in a state of joy — having a deep sense of well-being and peace — virtually all the time, is not only possible — it is actually how we are designed!!! Yet we struggle day to day, feeling stressed, anxious, fearful, overwhelmed or depressed instead. There are many inspirational resources out there, but it can be difficult to translate those messages into reality in our own day-to-day lives. And so we created The Joyful Hour Podcast to help you learn easy ways to allow your natural state of peace and joy to bubble up more often, to help you build your “joy” muscle.💫 Host Bianca Erickson is Miami's Personal Development + Wellness Expert whose big heart 💗 and background in Psychology, Public Health Research (Epidemiology), charitable work, Neuroscience, Mindfulness and Emotional Intelligence inform the enlightening conversations. Welcome!!! We are excited to have you join us on this journey back to joy! 🤩

The Joyful Hour - Dreaming Big with @WaterEquity’s @AlixInesLebec
play

07/22/19 • 64 min

Today’s show is an amazing conversation with Alix Lebec. Alix leads investor relations and marketing for WaterEquity, an outgrowth of water.org, the organization co-founded by Gary White and Matt Damon that has empowered 21 million people globally with access to safe water and sanitation. Water Equity puts capital to work to deliver universal access to safe water and sanitation. Alix recently closed WaterEquity’s flagship $50 million Impact Investing Fund. In addition to her impressive professional career, Alix has a passion for dance, performance and creative expression. A self-described French social and cultural entrepreneur who grew up in South Korea and China, Alix went from working at the World Bank to the Clinton Global Initiative before taking on fundraising and investment relations for water and waterequity. Alix is so bright and inspiring and I have to say one of the most striking things to me was her clear expression of something I read about many years ago. I don’t know if anyone has read the Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield. The 1st time I read it was over 20 years ago and it always stuck with me. The book reveals a series of insights about human evolution and the critical stage we are at currently in our evolution. One of the insights is about how our paths are really about discovering a truth that is a higher synthesis of what our parents believed and represent through their lives. Alix seems to have done this so beautifully in her life through her work and pursuit of personal passions.

They’re also launching two new cookies this month which I can’t wait to try! I love that Erica and her co-Founder Stephanie Pyatt prioritize women as customers, women owned and lead business partners and take a stand for pay equity.

Kashlee thought Instagram was an important tool to promote her business and found herself comparing herself to others, feeling like she was not enough and spending hours to get the “perfect” photo instead of enjoying the experience in front of her.
