Doubt is not a Problem
The Jonathan Herzog Podcast

Sometimes you get a hint of your greatness, a hint of the bigness of your life. A sense of what it's like to feel alive. Like what you're doing really matters. Like you're just f*cking exceptional at being who you are.
What I want you to know is that it is 100% normal and human and expected to sometimes forget that. In fact, it’s the brain’s job is to protect you to keep you alive to think that you’re always almost about to die. That everything is a constant threat that will kill you.
But here’s the thing. When you get that hint of what it's like to be exceptional to feel alive. What I want you to know is that that is the truth of who you are. That is your truth. The rest is noise.
This podcast is a little memory. It's a little time capsule. It's a little reminder to you of that moment of knowing you were made for this.
Anything that was ever built, ever created, was built without proof or evidence of it in the first place. When you first learned to walk, when you tripped and fell, your parent didn't believe you were never destined to become someone who walked. They didn't have any proof you'd be able to get up. But they knew you would. And so you did.
If you're ready to remind yourself of your limitlessness and skyrocket past your self-imposed ceiling of potential, let's f*cking go. Go to JonathanHerzogCoach.com and book a 1-on-1 coaching trial today.

How to Achieve Any Goal
The Jonathan Herzog Podcast
08/13/22 • 23 min
There's 3 simple steps to achieving any goal you have in life. Whether it be making $1 million dollars, meeting the love of your life, starting a family of your own, or anything under the sun.
First, pick your what. What is your goal? Just pick one. Be sure to be super specific, clear, and quantifiable. How will you know when you've achieved it?
Second, pick your when. By when will you have achieved this goal? Pick a date. Put it on your calendar.
Third, love your why(s). Why are you picking this goal? Why does it matter to you? Do you love your reasons? Get super clear on your why(s) and have your own back the entire way.
Finally, share this goal publicly and let it be known.
Become the person who has already achieved it.
Then it is as good as done.
Want the best 1-on-1 coaching to help you get any goal done 1000x faster? Head on over to JonathanHerzogCoach.com to get it done.
Jamie Kirchick on Secret City, The Hidden History of Gay Washington
The Jonathan Herzog Podcast
05/31/22 • 55 min
Jamie Kirchick joins The Gay Man's Life Coach Podcast to talk about his new book, Secret City, The Hidden History of Gay Washington.
Whether you agree with Jamie or not, the historical context for gay men in the United States is an opportunity for great self-compassion and insight. As we become examples of what's possible in this 4th evolution of gay manhood, understanding where we come from helps us build the future.
Being gay was only removed as a mental illness by the American Psychiatric Association less than 50 years ago. 30 years ago, 1 in 10 gay men died from AIDS. Being gay was only decriminalized in the U.S. 20 years ago. Being gay and legally allowed to marry only became possible 7 years ago.
High-achieving gay men have for long been performing in the highest echelons of achievement and power, demonstrating both a singular resourcefulness and tenacity combined with great dramatic tragedy.
DC as Jamie put it, was a magnet for gay people with a "best little boy in the world" complex. It also chewed them up and spit them out.
Over-performers, perfectionists, externally validated, and yet carrying this shameful, often lethal secret.

How to Stop Worrying
The Jonathan Herzog Podcast
02/09/23 • 17 min
Worrying is an indulgent emotion. It pretends to be useful but never is. It doesn’t provide you more information or insight. It just keeps you spinning and stuck.
The way to stop worrying is by making a commitment – by deciding.
You can actually just make a decision – in a minute. You can commit, decide, and follow through on your plan.
Your brain always wants a problem to chew on . Worry is robbing you of your life and dreams. Making a commitment - deciding – and taking consistent uninterrupted action towards your goal is how you’ll see it through.
