As with most things, the Arkham Gazette’s prediction of “The Great Heat Wave of 1921” was wrong and the hottest summer to ever reach the city arrived two weeks early, in August. The black painted streets of Arkham burned and cracked under the unforgiving sun and anyone caught in bare feet would be yelping in pain at the slightest touch of the sidewalk. The world of the 1920's has stumbled forward absentmindedly into a new era, alcohol is outlawed, the city – once clean and new – is now littered with the remnants of failed advertisements and newspapers. The dark corners of the city push back the light forcing citizens to stay home most nights and find comfort in your own endeavors. A breaking point sits just around the corner.

Dr. Dex Dalton is many things; scientist, cosmic hero, son, health food-nut ... but above all he’s.... well he’s in marooned.

When we last left Dex he had just been transported back to Earth 6 Billion Years since he had left it. Dex along with his friends Sly Fitzgerald and Liam Walker had been zapped home by the mysterious and eccentric Dr. Jay Bank who brought them all back to Numenera in order to set the world right from the desperate clutches of an unknown evil. The events that transpired after that are a mystery to us but whatever happened, it’s clear that a long time has passed between then and now...

Having been cursed by a particularly mean space witch name Methusa Kingle; Dr. Dex Dalton has been marooned on a destroyed parcel of land that floats within the black and violet void of “The Strange” for quite some time. Upon that floating island sits the house that Dex Dalton now resides; a bizarre and mysterious home simply called The Crimson Host. His salvation however lies within the cryptic message given to him when he received the Witch’s Curse,

“Help those in need in worlds beyond this or else you remain in the violet abyss.”

Utilizing a parting gift from his friend Brandyjack, Dex Dalton has built a machine that harnesses the power of a transport stone to move between worlds and help those who need it, as the Witch suggested.

Dex, along with his shape-shifting lizard companion "Prodi," now travel from world to world, dimension to dimension in search of a way to help those in need, hoping that helping the right beings may just get them off this floating prison and away from the bizarre and foreign dimension called “The Strange.” ________________________________________

Call of Cthulhu is a horror fiction role-playing game based on H. P. Lovecraft's story of the same name and the associated Cthulhu Mythos. The game, often abbreviated as CoC, is published by Chaosium.

Anthony Kitch was in a car accident last year that killed a young girl.

Now, enrolled in school for computer science, he's received a mysterious invitation of unknown origin to a society of programmers looking to bring something ancient and old into this world.

Denying their invitation to join, Anthony and his friend Sam escaped their base of operations and vowed to stay away as long as they could.

However, all is not what it seems for Anthony as the shadows within the ravine move. A beast lingers in the fog, hungry for him. Something fierce and animal, something keen on hunting him.
