Dr. Martha L. Forero is an Assistant Professor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM) in the Department of Public Health and Community Service and Department of Pediatric Dentistry. She is the Director of the Josiah Quincy school-based dental clinic and a Co-Director of the Pediatric Community Service-Learning rotation.

She was born in Bogota, Colombia, obtained her DDS at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, her M.S. in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Michigan, her RDH degree at Middlesex Community College, and is currently enrolled in a Master of Public Health program with an emphasis on dental public health at A.T. Still University.

Dr. Forero is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists

She participated at ADA Institute for Diversity in Leadership Class of 2019-2020. She is a past-president of the Massachusetts Hispanic Dental Association (2020).

Dr. Forero is the faculty advisor for the Hispanic Dental Association Student Chapter at TUSDM.

Dr. Jose Rivero is a Board Certified Dentist Anesthesiologist, he was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, where he earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery and practiced for several years while preparing to apply to postgraduate training programs in the U.S. In 2012, Dr. Rivero was accepted into the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at the University of Connecticut, where he completed two years of postdoctoral training. Immediately after, he continued to expand his skills and came to New York, and accepted a position in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, where he spent a full year training in the specialty, during this time Dr. Rivero developed a great interest in the field of Anesthesiology and management of patients who had difficulty tolerating dental treatment while awake.
He was then accepted into the 3-year Dental Anesthesiology residency program at Jacobi Medical Center in collaboration with Albert Einstein College of Medicine, the only Level 1 Trauma Center in the area, during the 3 years of extensive training exclusively dedicated to Anesthesiology he became proficient in providing all levels of sedation and anesthesia to adult and pediatric patients in settings ranging from the operating rooms to the dental clinics. The Anesthesiology training program included rotations in cardiology, emergency medicine, internal medicine, pulmonology, intensive care for adult and pediatric patients as well as orofacial pain. A special portion of the clinical aspect was dedicated to providing anesthesia for patients with special needs at the Rose F. Kennedy Center. Dr. Rivero served as Chief Resident during his second and part of his third year of residency.
Upon completion of his residency training Dr. Rivero became Board Certified by the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology, the only officially recognized institution providing board certification in Anesthesiology at the highest level of training for Dentistry. He keeps an active private practice providing ambulatory anesthesia and is affiliated with Columbia University Medical Center and Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he holds teaching positions.
He is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).

Dr. Andreina Bracho received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Universidad Central de Venezuela in 2009. She worked as a general dentist for a few years before pursuing her specialty. During that time, she discovered her love for pediatric dentistry.

She completed her pediatric residency at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts, receiving two awards at her graduation – clinical achievement and performance in orthodontics. She is always eager to learn more in order to provide exceptional care and a pleasant experience for her patients.

Dr. Bracho is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Florida Academy of Pediatric Dentists and the Pan-American Dental Society.
She is currently board eligible in her pediatric specialty.

Dr. Bracho is originally from Caracas, Venezuela, but she now calls Orlando home. She is fluent in both Spanish and English. When not treating patients, Dr. Bracho loves to spend time with her husband and family. She can easily be found at the beach, practicing yoga, riding her bike, or just relaxing while enjoying a good movie

Mike Hill- Chairman of the Board. Mike has been working with dental practices and dental suppliers across the dental ecosystem for nearly a decade to deliver efficieny, optimization and new educational standards. Mike has built results all throughout the value chain and has successfully worked with a variety of practices from small single practitioner offices to large multi-practices. Mike is a recognized leader in the business of dentistry; he co-developed an executive education program for practice owners and has lectured on the business of dentistry at the Dental College of Georgia. Mike is also an educator, serving as a Management faculty member in the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia.

Rick Callan, DMD, EdS, EdD- Board Member. Following a successful career as a private practice dentist, Dr. Callan returned to his alma mater, DCG as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Rehabilitation. He served as Chair of the Department of General Dentistry for 11 years. He has since received a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and his Doctoral degree in Educational Innovation. Dr. Callan retired from the faculty of his alma mater in December 2019. Dr. Callan is a dental education consultant and continues to conduct research on the application of digital technologies in the education of health professionals.

Donna Armstrong- Board Member. Donna has been leading the design and operation of business services her entire career. Her career has been focused on providing business services that balance operational efficiency and world-class customer experience. She uses her detailed orientation for results to ensure all dental simulation educational courses are properly tested and delivered at all educational centers with a passion for her customers. Donna has been hands on with PDS customers since the inception of our first simulation center.
Jerry Cooper, DMD, FAGD- Board Member. Upon graduation from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry, Dr. Cooper returned home and started his private practice in Trenton, GA. He served patients from the tri-state area providing comprehensive dental care for thirty years before deciding to enter academics. Dr. Cooper served on the faculty of his alma mater from 2006 until the end of 2019. He also maintained a very active dental practice within the school, treating patients from all walks of life. He was a strong student advocate, constantly and consistently working for students’ right to a complete educational experience. He received various awards including, the American College of Dentists Professionalism Award multiple times and the prestigious Judson C. Hickey Award for outstanding teaching.

Dr. André Barbisan De Souza obtained his DDS at the State University of Maringá, Brazil, in 2011. He also obtained his training in Periodontology and the Master’s Degree, both at the same university. He was an ITI Scholar at Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM), from 2015 to 2016.
He has conducted pre-clinical and clinical research in the field of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry and has several articles published in peer-reviewed journals. He is a reviewer of journals such as Clinical Oral Implants Research and Journal of Dental Education.

Dr. Panos Papaspyridakos is a specialist Prosthodontist and his clinical expertise covers all aspects of Implant, Esthetic, and Reconstructive Dentistry. He received both his Certificate of Specialty in Prosthodontics and an M.S. degree with honorary distinction from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York. Subsequently, he received his Certificate of ITI Scholarship in Implant Dentistry from Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston. Dr. Papaspyridakos has published more than 100 articles and abstracts in international, peer-reviewed journals and has authored book chapters in 5 Implant Dentistry textbooks, while he serves as a reviewer for several dental journals. His innovative clinical implant research has received international acclaim with educational awards and is well cited with more than 2,000 citations. He is a fellow of the International Team of Implantology (ITI) and the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics (GNYAP) and he lectures extensively on dental implants and esthetics in national and international dental meetings.

Dr. Carlos Parra DDS was born and raised in Barcelona, Spain. He graduated from dental school (2009) at Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC), Barcelona, Spain.
After his graduation, he got enrolled in a Clinical Residency in Periodontology at UIC (2009-10).

He also served as a pre-doctoral clinical instructor (2011 – 12) at UIC.
During that period, he was also involved in researches relating to oropharyngeal dysphagia and oral hygiene. Dr. Parra practiced dentistry in Barcelona, Spain, for 3 years (2009-12) prior to coming to Boston, USA.

In 2012, he continued his studies for a Certificate in Periodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Boston, Massachusetts (2012-15).
In November of 2015, he became a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics at Texas A&M College of Dentistry, Dallas, Texas.

In September 2016, during the 102 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP), he received the Leslie M. Salkin Award for the highest-scoring candidate on the 2016 American Board of Periodontology (ABP) Oral Examination.
He is also a receiver of the American Academy Foundation Fellowship to the Institute for Teaching and Learning (ITL) in Health Professions, and the Bud & Linda Tarrson Fellowship Award.

In January 2019, Dr. Parra was appointed Assistant Program Director of the Department of Periodontology, at Texas A&M University.
Dr. Parra has lectured nationally and internationally on periodontics. His main areas of interest are soft tissue enhancement and dental implants.

Dr. Marcelo Freire is an Associate Professor of the Genomic Medicine and Infectious Disease Department at the J. Craig Venter Institute. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Infectious Diseases at the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego. He received his clinical DDS from the University of Fluminense, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He later received his Ph.D. in Craniofacial Biology, focusing on Immune Engineering for Tissue Regeneration, from USC. He completed his Certificate in Periodontology and Doctor of Medical Sciences in Oral Biology from Harvard University. He completed postdoctoral research training in Immunology at the Forsyth Institute and was the award winner of the Balint Orban Memorial Award from the Academy of Periodontology. Dr. Freire previously served as a faculty member at Harvard and the Forsyth Institute and is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.

As a dual-scientist and clinician, Dr. Freire’s research focuses on the role of the human microbiome modulating chronic inflammation. His current NIH-funded research program focuses on finding immune signals that are common to oral and systemic chronic inflammation present in diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and periodontal diseases. By learning from complex host-microbial interactions, Freire’s team is shedding light on novel diagnostics for chronic inflammation to novel therapeutics in tissue regeneration. Currently, Dr. Freire serves as the President of the Clinical and Translational Science Network of the International Association for the Dental Research and he is fully licensed to practice in the state of California.
