Pleasure is every woman’s birthright. This is an invitation to light that spark within you and reclaim the parts of yourself that have been lost and forgotten. To light that spark the world told you to dim. The spark that aches to burn brightly. As women, we’ve lost that spark and with it, our connection to pleasure. In the Illuminated Woman podcast, we’ll explore how we’ve dimmed our light, how we’ve lost our feminine essence and connection to pleasure, and how we can reignite that spark so we can reclaim our Soul’s essence and destiny and find the freedom, magic, joy and pleasure our Soul craves. When we do, we’ll help heal ourselves, our lineage, and the world.

Ep 40 Lyrics Of A Broken Heart - A Father's Journey with Jim Mueller
The Illuminated Woman
02/23/21 • 63 min
I’m so excited about this week’s podcast because I’m bringing you another male perspective to the conversation around grief. As the mother of sons and grandmother to grandsons, I happen to love and adore men. And from my research, conversations, and experience, men are taught even less about grief, and expressing their feelings in general, than women are. Today, we’re going to talk with a bereaved father, Jim Mueller, who channeled his grief into a beautiful book called “Lyrics Of A Broken Heart.”
- Luke’s moments of joy
- Why what matters isn’t about what you accomplish in the world - and what is important
- How opening ourselves up to love opens us up to loss
- How he’s extended Luke’s Spirit as a way to not get lost in the grief, but rather to use it to give to others
- What he doubted about his writing
- The message Luke’s godfather received for Jim after Luke’s passing - and Jim’s initial reaction to it
- The thing we can’t force ourselves to do
- What he believes is the most important thing for us to do in grief
- How he fell into the abyss of God
- What happens when we shine a light on the thoughts and emotions of our grief
- The question he asks himself when he meets someone who’s grieving
- The gift we can find in grief - if we choose to
- What he learned from a patient with disabilities when he was a chaplain in a hospital
- His experience with Lawrence Welk’s daughter, and her near-death experience
- What happened when he used mantras and energy healing on Luke in the NICU
- The concept of emotional wholeness - and the journey to attain it after grief
- The hard choices we often have to make with loved ones who are seriously ill
- What he did with Luke’s pictures after Luke’s passing
- The importance of surrender and not pushing against what is
- When his grief began to melt away
- When he was able to finish the book
- Why his book is very uncomfortable for men
Be sure to pick up a copy of Jim's book on Amazon or your local bookstore.

The Illuminated Woman
12/22/20 • 35 min
Paul Jacobs is a world-renowned medium. He studied at and taught at the Arthur Findlay College in England, the premier college for spirituality and mediumship studies. I’m extremely honored that Paul was kind enough to do this interview. If you’re skeptical about mediumship, please listen in with an open heart - I think Paul will open you up to a new way of looking at the Spirit world and the gifts it has for us. He’s had a fascinating and rich history with mediumship and spirituality, about which he shared openly in our conversation.
Our conversation lasted well over an hour. I’ll release part 2 next week, so stay tuned for the rest of the conversation! Here are a few of the highlights from Part 1 of our chat:
- Why he only speaks from his own experience in mediumship, and not things he’s read
- Why he considers himself to be the “Reluctant Medium”
- How his search for the reality of God led him to mediumship and the Spirit world
- Why being a “Reluctant Medium” helped him grow as a medium
- A peek into some of his private conversations with Gordon Higginson, his mentor and the then-Principal of the Arthur Findlay College
- The message he received from the Spirit world about being a full-time medium
- The role personal responsibility takes in the choices we make
- The intention I always set before I have a reading with a medium
- The reading where Paul received the message he needed to hear, but not the one he wanted to hear
- What he tells aspiring mediums about meeting the needs of the client and the Spirit world
- The difference between psychic readings and mediumship readings
- Why the term “psychic medium” is really a misnomer
- The different roles of the Soul in psychic readings and in mediumship readings
- Why we all have psychic abilities, but we don’t all have mediumship abilities
- Why we don’t develop mediumship - and what we can develop instead
- Why being a medium is not the only way to be of service (this one is particularly important for bereaved parents)
- The importance of intent and motivation in mediumship
- The true purpose of mediumship (hint: it isn’t what most people think it is)
- What Gordon Higginson told him about the materialistic side of mediumship
- Why it’s so important for bereaved parents to maintain a balance between wanting to connect spiritually and living their present physical lives
- What he tells bereaved parents the reason their child in Spirit may not be happy
- How the concept of eternity can assist us on our grief journey
- Why bereaved parents don’t need to worry about things they feel their children missed out on in this life
This episode was so rich and full of insightful information. It’s a particularly important episode for bereaved parents who are trying to develop mediumship abilities.
