PCOS or Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a condition in which the ovaries produce an abnormal amount of male sex hormones resulting in numerous small cysts (fluid-filled sacs) that form in the ovaries. In America alone around 6-12% of the female population are formally diagnosed, but with diagnosis rates taking time and often being overlooked there are many more out there who suffer. PCOS not only impacts a woman’s fertility it also has adverse effects on weight gain, hair growth and overall mental health. In today’s episode I am talking to Cory Ruth,a Registered Dietitian, fellow PCOS Cyster, and women's health expert. She works specifically with women to help them better understand the powerful connection between the female body systems and optimal health.
