Today’s guests are Kerrie Field and Lauren Harrison, co-founders of Pod Organics, an organic skincare range that is luxurious, affordable, gender neutral and suitable for use on the whole family, even those with most sensitive skin, including newborns.

Having spent many years working in the beauty industry mum Kerrie approached her daughter Lauren who has a background in corporate marketing to join forces and create a truly unique beauty brand.

Carol Kavurma of LGFB on the Transformative Power of Beauty for Cancer-Affected Women

Welcome to The Green Edit Podcast, your go-to destination for clean, high-performance beauty, hosted by founder & Organic Makeup Artist, Cathy Tolpigin.

On this podcast, you’ll hear interviews with brand founders, formulators, beauty innovators and wellness experts. Together we unpack the various definitions of clean, share inspiring brand stories, and cover the latest innovations in the green beauty industry — with a few product recommendations thrown in, of course.

Today’s guest is Carol Kavurma, General Manager of Look Good Feel Better Australia.

For 31 years, Look Good Feel Better has run workshops to help Australians undergoing cancer treatment to recognise that small, simple actions of self-care each day can have a huge impact on both physical and emotional wellbeing.

The workshops encourage patients to follow a daily routine to keep their skin nourished and protected, they are taught a few tips to give the illusion of lashes and brows and are shown how to style and wear a fun piece of headwear.

We all know a fun pop of colour on the lips can make all the difference when we're in need of a little pick-me-up and for those undergoing cancer treatment, the confidence-boosting effect is even more powerful.

As a makeup artist, I have loved supporting Look Good Feel Better over the years by running virtual and face to face skincare and makeup workshops. I have seen women enter the workshops with sadness and apprehension, it quickly transforms into a sense of relief and comfort, just by being in the same room with others who understand what they are going through. They leave the workshop with a sense of renewed confidence and often as new friends, which is beautiful to watch.

I would love to support this amazing organisation further by donating $2 from every ticket sold to The Green Edit Event set for the 10th of March 2022. And if any beauty brands in our community would like to donate some products to Look Good Feel Better for use in future workshops, hopefully this episode provides a little insight and inspiration.

  • Last product you purchased - RMS Beauty Concealer
  • What’s been your best beauty discovery this year - Dr Hauschka Bath Essence
  • Your desert island skincare product - Weleda Skin Food
  • Professional treatment you swear by - Brow wax and Massage
  • Best piece of beauty or wellness advice you can share - Sunscreen Sunscreen, sunscreen, essential for those undergoing cancer treatment and drink lots of water.

All information about registering for a workshop as a patient, registering as a volunteer, making donations of beauty products and financial donations are found on the Look Good Feel Better website:

Emma Lewisham on Circular Beauty and the Product She Created To Prevent and Reverse Signs of Hyperpigmentation

Please note that Emma's audio improves after the first few minutes of the podcast - unfortunately we had wifi issues. The content of the podcast is so incredible, it is such an inspiring episode.
Today’s guest is Emma Lewisham, founder of her namesake beauty brand. Hailing from New Zealand, the brand was born from Emma’s personal desire for products that were truly clean and sustainable, but also delivered real, scientifically-validated results.

Growing up, Emma was surrounded by strong female role models she was inspired by women who took risks and embraced challenges. Emma’s grandmother was one of the first female CEOs in NZ, and her mother was a business owner and entrepreneur. Fearlessness and confidence was naturally wired into her.

So she left her corporate career and after 5 years of research she launched with one product: the Skin Reset Serum, which is scientifically proven to prevent and reverse the signs of hyperpigmentation, dullness, age spots, and uneven skin tone.

It saw immediate success, and the brand has been in high demand all over the world ever since.

In our conversation we talk about Emma’s commitment to sustainability. Her entire supply chain is fully traceable, every ingredient used is of the highest quality, and recently the brand announced its carbon positive status — an accolade that was incredibly supported by Jane Goodall.

Emma truly believes that in life and work there are two options: either comfort or courage - her view is that you can’t have both.

Hearing about her amazing journey, her definition of the word clean and learning more about her science-backed formulation it is clear to see that Emma has achieved her goal of creating a new benchmark in beauty.

And in the process Emma is inspiring the next generation of women including her young daughter to follow their dreams, step up to challenges and live a courageous life.

  • Last product you purchased - Nars black eyeliner Mecca
  • What’s been your best beauty discovery this year - Meditation, Emma got back into it during lockdown - beauty comes from the inside
  • Your desert island skincare product - Emma Lewisham Skin Shield SPF 30
  • Professional treatment you swear by - Acupuncture once a month.
  • Best piece of beauty or wellness advice you can share - Wear SPF, drink lots of water, plant based diet, exercise, smile, all the simple things, doing them consistently.
