Welcome to 2020 everyone!
I did a lot of reflection in the last month or so, and I was really looking for a sign or guidance as I stepped into a new decade.
There was a lot of signs! all good and positive signs leading to my decision to start the process if for any other reason to gain knowledge and experience, and share it here with all my Native people.
Yes, I walked into the elections office here in Tucson and picked up a candidate packet!
Listen to the podcast to find out more. What does the process involve? and is it official . . yet?

This is one of the best episodes and recap of Reservation Dogs we have had to date. In this podcast episode we discuss Episode 7 "California Dreamin" Our special guest on this episode is Mr. Gary Farmer who plays "Uncle Brownie" on the series!
The is a very powerful episode and discussion as well. This was an emotional episode to watch and the scene reaction when Elora finds Daniel is powerful. Gary Farmer lends his views on the scene, the series, and the upcoming Season 2!
(Trigger Warning) some stories shared by our guests and speakers are about suicide and personal traumas.

The Yoeme Food Harvest Program and why Food Sovereignty is so important to Native Communities.
I'm so grateful to be part of this pilot program!
Here is some information about the program and the Yaqui Tribe's involvement in the program.
I share my personal experience's and info on how you can find more about the program.
In 2023, the IHS Produce Prescription Pilot Program (P4) awarded grant funding to five tribal communities to develop 5-year produce prescription programs. The purpose of the P4 is to help reduce food insecurity and improve health care outcomes among American Indian and Alaska Native people by increasing access to produce and other traditional foods within Native communities. Each pilot program is unique in their delivery and implementation of their P4 activities.

Why I skip Thanksgiving! & our Spiritual Walk to the Mission.
The Good "Tu'i" Medicine Podcast
12/04/19 • 27 min
Ketche Allea? How are you? Hope all is well and everyone is having a fantastic week so far.
In episode 15 we discuss touch on a couple of topics including Thanksgiving and why I don't observe the holiday. I also talk about the recent Spiritual Walk to San Xavier Mission where we had close to 70 people participating in the walk. I also share an audio clip taken on the walk where you can almost feel the cold in my voice as the temps that morning were close to freezing!
Its that time of year to think about giving and one of the projects I am grateful to be a part of is the Pascua Yaqui Tribe Charitable Organization or PYTCO. I talk briefly about the organization and I will share a link below to their new website that just went live a few weeks ago.
Lastly! why does the Yaqui Flag resemble the Flag of France?
As always, I hope we bring you value, and make it a great day!

I will share what those are in this episode and the Yaqui translation of each one.
Also! I am working on a new podcast series called "Itom Lutu"uria" Our Truth. This is a new exciting series where we will have guests that will share stories about those core values on this podcast!

Yaqui History and Enrollment Information
The Good "Tu'i" Medicine Podcast
06/25/19 • 27 min
In this episode I touch on some key dates in Yaqui History, and I start with the Talking Tree" story about the creation of the Yaqui people and how we are the original protectors of the earth.
Bonus: Blood quantum and enrollment in the Yaqui Tribe. We get a lot of questions on our social media pages about enrollment with the Tribe so we try to answer some of those questions in this episode. The key point in seeking enrollment is proving your lineage to an enrolled member of the Tribe, and meeting the other qualifications we mention in this episode.
