So often, we long for an escape. We find ourselves in a place that we always aspired to be, yet, we feel as if something is missing. If we are lucky, we may find ourselves in a different location and be overwhelmed by a realization or inspiration that might lead to a fundamental change in our mindset or our lives. But regardless of where you go to search for the solution, you will always find it in one location - within yourself. We just need to believe in our capabilities, reflect on our past achievements, take action, and hope that we will have the perfect cheerleaders to support us along our journey.

On this episode of The Ginni Show, I speak with Karen Gamba, Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of ExV Agency. She’s a philanthropist, traveler, Sci-fi fanatic, and overall girl power guru. Karen is an eternal ex-pat and travel fanatic, and she is here to share some of the life-changing awakenings she experienced in different locations around the globe.

The Ginni Show - Happiness is a Choice with David Neagle
play

Do you need an attitude change? The way we show up in our everyday lives, and the attitude we put on each day, is a key factor in determining whether or not we are truly happy. It’s not quite that simple, though. It takes a number of steps to get to that state, and the first step is realizing that it’s time for an attitude shift. In this episode, I talk with David Neagle. He’s a bestselling author and one of the architects of the coaching and personal growth industry itself. Prior to his success, David was living a life that wasn’t sustainable and wasn’t making him happy. His days were overwhelming, and he felt likehe just couldn’t make life work anymore. In other words, he hit rock bottom.Hitting rock bottom spurred David on a journey of self-reflection, self-discovery, and a total attitude makeover. Today, he’s choosing happiness.Take a listen to hear more about David’s journey and how he integrated key mindset changes to become the genuinely happy person he is today.David’s Happiness Hack:“If there’s something in my life that I’m not happy with or that is not adding to my happiness, in order to make me happy I will choose to change that thing. I have the power to do that. I’m not going to tolerate something in my life that’s not worthy of it.” (22:43)Some Questions I Ask: - What’s happened for you in the last 5 years? (1:28) - Do you think there needs to be a rock-bottom moment for someone to transform their life? (4:52) - What are your personal routines that keep you centered? (7:57) - What is your definition of happiness? (22:07) - Who are the 5 people that you spend the most time with? (25:46)In This Episode, You Will Learn: - What 3 mindset tools David used to transform his life. (2:25) - Some common barriers to people changing their·attitude. (6:27) - About David’s morning routine that sets the tone for the day. (10:17) - How constantly seeking approval ultimately leads to dysfunction. (14:52) - How gratitude leads to happiness in life. The Ginni Show - Monday Mocha with Monique Bowley
play

04/10/17 • 22 min

I know it feels like a long time between Mocha's. Now that Wednesday's aren't returning until July, our catch up time is down to once a week. It sucks but given the fact that I ask you all to invest in yourselves and listen to your inner child, play time and balance is a part of that so I must practice what I preach. At least that means we get Monday's together right? Now, before you freak out when you listen to this podcast and say, "I've heard this voice before." Other than my dulcet tones, my guest for this week, Australia's Queen of Podcasts herself - Monique Bowley, frequents the airwaves, currently on the Mamamia Podcast Network. Her work is award winning and her witty, quick whips and natural flair for conversation is apparent. What I loved about this particular podcast is that I got to see a deeper side of Monique, even when she told me she "Mutes it when the plop happens." What I loved learning about her was that she is engineered from a place of gratitude; which comes doing what she does....and having a pair legs. Much wisdom, laughter and Monday Motivation in this one, my friends. "I go to mass every Sunday. There is no where in life anymore that tells you not to be a dickhead, as an adult. The one hour on Sunday morning, tells me to be a better person." Pre Week Preparation: John tries to prepare over the weekend. In the book Getting Things Done by David Allen, John says one of the main concepts that he loved about it is the concept of a loop, where you are constantly thinking of the things that you have to accomplish but you never get them done so they keep coming back into your head. So, it stresses you out and it grinds you until you get it done. So, David Allen has this whole system of list and things like that that you can use to constantly be on top of what needs to get done 5 People in Inner Circle:Wife/ Business Partner- Everythin. The Ginni Show - #21 The Butterflies Won't Eat You
play

11/28/17 • 16 min

The day I learnt that Butterflies didn't have the ability to eat me was one of the most liberating days of my life. I was 12 and I watched a Cethosia butterfly fly away. Celebrate the wins, people. No matter how big of small they are.I've heard many spiritual teachers say that in life, humans tend to look at things in two ways; out of love or out of fear. When we opt for the latter, we go down a spiral of anxiety and darkness and it's generally a projection of things that don't exist in the present. We spend all this time and energy worry about things that never really happen. That's just how powerful and crippling fear is. It's design to keep us safe and somewhat restricted. Fear does serve a purpose though. Fear teaches us that boundaries are needed to be put in place until we wish to explore what's beyond. I feared butterflies for most of my childhood, and this episode will tell you exactly why. This is one of those fears that when you are brave enough to face it, you can find that what's beyond that fear is something pretty special, innocent and freeing. Whatever your fears may be, if they cripple you and block you from beauty, I hope this episode brings you joy and learning that there is so much freedom beyond fear!Love @theginnishow xDo you approve The Ginni Show? The Ginni Show - Monday Mocha with Eljay Aguillo
play

04/30/17 • 15 min

Where's your safe place? Is it a physical place you can go to and know that you feel completely ok to be yourself? Or is a space you go to when you meditate or a feeling that takes you there. For me, the feeling and the comfort that comes when I am in New York makes it my place. It's one of the reasons why I love New York City, and its from this love that lead me to meeting our next guest. Eljay Aguillo was in a long distance relationship with a lady from Chicago who sent him a Joss Stone album request he listen to a song called, "I fell in love with a boy." After realising that it was her way of telling him that she had fallen in love with someone else, heartbroken, Eljay moved to New York City in hope of one day running into his ex girlfriend in the city she loved so dearly. Three years later, amidst the sadness of his break-up, Eljay finally healed enough to gain the courage to listen to the entire Joss Stone album. As a reward to himself, he went to a party with his friends, leaving his credit card at the bar to shout everyone drinks to celebrate this long awaited milestone. In a twist of fate, that night, Eljay's credit card got mixed up with someone else's at the party and this lead him to meet the inspiration behind his amazing photographic turned published book: Why I Love New York City - his wife Maria. Eljay has captured and heard nearly 700 stories of love. One of my favourite Monday Mocha podcasts so far. "There's always a romance to being or doing something for yourself that you've always wanted to do in your life. If you do that, you should look at it always as a positive. You did this for yourself and you did this because you love who and what you are." As kids who enter the world and go through brand new experiences, the memories we form pave the way to our beliefs about ourselves. Generally speaking, a lot of these beliefs evolve around how much we want to be liked - how much we want that fellow human approval. After all, it's apart of humanity to want to relate and connect with our own species. The issues that arise from this need for approval is that we compromise so much of our own inner voice and needs and fill our minds and energies with resentment. Oprah calls it the "disease to please," and when we place ourselves in a position to seek approval or behave in a way just so others will like us, over time resentment builds. This episode goes through the patterns around approval and where these usually form - home and school; the things we do so that our parents and the cool kids at school like us. #9 Building Walls Over the past three weeks, the world has been either in a state of shock, fear...some are seeking to be positive and others are just in a total state of W.T.F. I didn’t want to make this podcast about politics, but instead I wanted to use what was going on around us to take time to see what was reflected within us. With the constant fear inspiring rhetoric we hear in our news feeds and from our leaders - of course, it's natural to be freaking the F out. Sometimes the only way to combat such negativity and rhetoric is to start with ourselves. See where it is within us the places we started to build walls around our hearts and our lives. Where did we become intolerant of others out of anger or hate? Out of a difference of opinion or political belief? At what time did we separate ourselves from everyone else? Where did we fail to be the best person we could be and use love, peace and thoughtfulness as the foundation. If each and every one of us begin to cultivate that kind of unity within – what is without will begin to reflect that. It’s the series finale of The Ginni Show and I wanted to say thank you to all of you for tuning in, for inviting me into your spaces, your homes, your cars and your bathrooms - Hola to the toilet phone users out there. Laugh and love that little bit harder and take extra care of yourselves and one another these holidays. I’ll see you in January 2017.
