Chapter Sixteen: "“I tried just laying there with my eyes closed. Even counted sheep for awhile. Can you believe that? Just pictured them hopping over a white fence, but after awhile each one started looking sicker. Patches of wool missing, frail. Others had broken limbs or were missing them all together.
They stopped jumping and watched me through the fence, like they were waiting. And I knew what they were waiting for—for me to come and put them all down. I couldn’t help it. Someone was inserting these images in my mind.
The harder I fought, the worse they got. More vivid. So, I slipped outside."
Remember, there are two types of people in this world.
The Haunters and the Haunted.

The House Unsettling (Chapter 15)
Chapter Fifteen: "What else can push a friendship to the breaking point? What else, beyond matters of sex and property, can snap that bond?
How about, even unintentionally, putting your best friend in harm’s way? OR forcing them into a situation that shakes their core beliefs, makes them question everything they felt to be foundational to their existence. Is that enough to break the connection?
And if so, once they flee, do we blame them for it? After all, they aren’t bound by blood, so when it becomes too much, do we resent them for leaving us alone, once again?"

The House Unsettling (Chapter 17)
Chapter Seventeen: "Without the safety of a group, we are, in essence, forced to contemplate our mortality alone. In doing so, we have to explore our own courage, our own strength. We date, we marry, we form friendships often so we don’t have to wait for dawn alone.
So, what happens when your support system is taken away? What happens when you are forced to go it alone?
Will the minutes crawl? Will whatever lurks in the darkness sniff out your vulnerability? Do you pray for sunrise?"
