In this episode we bring you an exceptional conversation with trans artist, poet, zine-maker and podcast-producer Erin Kyan, who chats to us about the experience of dating as a disabled person, how he continues to celebrate his body despite societal expectations, and how local queer nightlife venues can do better in disability inclusion. Firstly, we chat to queer lawyer Nicholas Stewart about finally receiving justice for the 1988 death of Scott Johnson in NSW. He also dissects how minority hate crimes are dealt with and the importance of seeing members of our community in senior AFP positions. Back home, we chew over the ways in which LGBTI+ equality has halted (and in many ways regressed) in the face of a global pandemic, and whether true equality is merely an unachievable far-off pipe dream. Depressing, no? Just another day for The Gays!

And in this week’s after show we discuss the legacy of iconique queer artist Tom of Finland, in celebration of what would have been his 100th birthday.
