Is LGBTI+ equality going backwards & hate crime justice with lawyer Nicholas Stewart
The Gays Are Revolting
05/23/20 • 48 min
We’re back! Healthy as a horse, fit as a fiddle and the hottest mess of unmet expectations you ever did see. But somebody better get Ally McBeal on Zoom coz this week we’re serving legal realness. Firstly, we chat to queer lawyer Nicholas Stewart about finally receiving justice for the 1988 death of Scott Johnson in NSW. He also dissects how minority hate crimes are dealt with and the importance of seeing members of our community in senior AFP positions. Back home, we chew over the ways in which LGBTI+ equality has halted (and in many ways regressed) in the face of a global pandemic, and whether true equality is merely an unachievable far-off pipe dream. Depressing, no? Just another day for The Gays!
And in this week’s after show we discuss the legacy of iconique queer artist Tom of Finland, in celebration of what would have been his 100th birthday.

Granny Bingo Wireless!
The Gays Are Revolting
04/05/20 • 41 min
Catch the iconic first ladies of Bingo before death does, as they assault your ears and give you all of the (inappropriate) feels.
Life-long best friends and Melbourne International Comedy Festival Golden Gibbo Award recipients Edith Vale and Maureen McGillicuddy have travelled the world, spreading their balls far and wide. (There's also ugly, dumb mute Caroline Springs, but the less said about her the better.)
Now you can catch them from the convenience of your own electronic device, as they offend listeners far and wide with a unique blend of questionable advice and morally dubious insights into the day's issues. Welcome to Granny Bingo Wireless!
