The Garden Church

The Garden Church

The Garden Church

The Garden is a church for skeptics and saints.
It's a church where your bartender could get baptized, where broken marriages are restored, and the last person you'd see in church might be lit on fire by the hope of the Gospel.
The Garden is a church that's not bashful about truth but enthusiastic about rich theology so that Christians young and old might be fully equipped.
We long to see the whole West Valley renewed by the power and beauty of Jesus.

We love a good underdog story. Whether it's a struggling athlete getting their big break or an overlooked competitor rising to victory, something inside us roots for the one who wasn’t supposed to win. But no one champions the underdog like Jesus.

In John 4, we see Jesus breaking every barrier—cultural, social, and religious—to seek a Samaritan woman with a scandalous past. He doesn’t just offer her acceptance; He offers her living water—true, eternal satisfaction that no relationship, possession, or success can provide. And once she encounters Him, she can’t keep it to herself. She runs back to her town, bringing others to the Messiah.

This is what Jesus does. He seeks the lost, satisfies the thirsty, and sends the saved. The same Jesus who pursued her is pursuing you. Will you let Him transform you into an ambassador for His Kingdom?

The Garden Church - Like Father Like Son

Jesus isn’t just a good teacher. He isn’t just a miracle worker. He is the Son of God, carrying the full power of Heaven and Hell in His hands.
In John 5, Jesus makes it clear—He only does what the Father does. If you love God, you can’t ignore Jesus. To honor the Father, you must honor the Son. The heartbeat of the universe isn’t chaos, politics, or self-preservation—it’s a Father who loves His Son, and through Him, gives life to the world.
For parents dedicating their children today, this truth is massive. You’re not just raising kids—you’re raising disciples. Faith isn’t inherited; it’s demonstrated. Your children will fear the God you fear and ignore the God you ignore.
And here’s the best news: Jesus isn’t just coming to raise the dead at the end of time—He’s raising people to life today. Have you blown it? Feel spiritually lifeless? Jesus can awaken what’s dead in you right now.
Find life in Him. There is no other source.

The Garden Church - Serve Sunday: Stewarding What God Has Given You
play

02/23/25 • 31 min

God has given you something—talents, skills, abilities—not for yourself, but for His Kingdom. The Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25 reminds us that everything we have is a gift from God, not something we’ve earned. The question is, what are you doing with what He has entrusted to you?
Too often, we undervalue our own gifts. We compare ourselves to others, assuming what we have is insignificant. But Jesus makes it clear: God highly values what He has given you, and He expects you to use it for His glory. Whether you’re gifted in hospitality, leadership, teaching, organization, or service—there is no talent too small or insignificant in the Body of Christ.
Today is Serve Sunday—a day to take action. Step in, serve, and be a part of something bigger than yourself. You have been given much—how will you use it?

The Garden Church - Less of Me

Less of Me

play

02/03/25 • 34 min

We don’t just need a remodel—we need a total rebuild. Too many people treat Jesus like an upgrade to an already decent life, but the gospel says otherwise. Left to ourselves, we’re broken, self-centered, and hopeless. True transformation begins when we let go of control and surrender to Christ. John the Baptist understood this when he declared, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” That’s the essence of following Jesus.

In this passage, we see what it means to be set apart, to embrace being second, and to seal our lives with Christ’s truth. This is the radical shift that leads to real, lasting change. Baptism is a public declaration of that transformation—a dying to self and rising to new life in Jesus.

Are you still trying to upgrade your old life, or are you ready to let Jesus rebuild you completely?

The Garden Church - Re-Godding Jesus | Revelation 1:9-20
play

01/15/24 • 36 min

This message is all about true worship. What is your view of Jesus? Maybe you’d say he's just dead rabbi that has had some influence on Western society the same as Sigmund Freud or Charles Darwin. He’s interesting but not personally consequential. Or maybe you’d say you believe in God, but Jesus and church are basically just a nice thing we can add to our lives. In this teaching, Nolan Tjaden argues that Jesus is not inconsequential or optional but vital. Jesus is the center of all things, and His power and authority demands our daily allegiance. Which is the heart of worship.

The Garden Church - The Art of Being Forgotten
play

10/27/24 • 42 min

In a world consumed by self-image, where every scroll, post, and click pulls us further into the culture of personal branding and validation, we find ourselves more disconnected and anxious than ever. Could it be that true freedom lies not in being noticed, but in stepping aside? In "The Art of Being Forgotten," we explore the powerful paradox of selflessness, turning to the lives of John the Baptist and other humble leaders who found deep, lasting fulfillment in lives dedicated to something beyond themselves. John the Baptist, known not for self-promotion but for his relentless focus on Christ, shows us what it means to make way for a purpose greater than our own. Rather than seeking fame, he lived to magnify Jesus, embracing a life that pointed to something—Someone—eternally more significant than his own story.

The Garden Church - Jesus Clears the Temple With Justin
play

01/06/25 • 46 min

What happens when zeal for God confronts greed and corruption? In John 2:13-22, Jesus enters the temple and overturns more than just tables—He upends the way we think about worship, holiness, and our hearts. With a whip of cords in hand and fire in His eyes, Jesus declares that His Father’s house is not a marketplace but a sacred space for communion with God.

But this isn’t just about a building. Jesus’ fury exposes misplaced priorities and a deeper truth: He is the true temple, the meeting place between heaven and earth, where broken hearts are restored and sin is forgiven. His actions point to the cross, where His body—the ultimate temple—would be destroyed and raised again, making way for all to worship in spirit and truth.

Are there "tables" in your life that need to be overturned? Let Jesus' zeal for holiness inspire a fresh encounter with His grace. Listen now and let your heart be stirred.
