In this week’s episode, while Roger is off on a ghost-hunting adventure, Mike and Phil take over to deliver a mix of spooky humor, horror movie reviews, and creative reimaginings of iconic video games.

Ghost Hunting and Horror Films

Mike and Phil share some light-hearted banter about Roger’s ghost-hunting quest in Maryland. Mike then reviews two horror films: In a Violent Nature—a slasher film reminiscent of Friday the 13th—and Terrifier 3, which pushes the limits of gore and depravity. Phil joins in on the conversation, comparing the intensity of these films to horror classics.

Reimagining Video Games: Horror Genre Edition

The hosts challenge themselves to reimagine well-known horror games in different genres. Ideas include a Castlevania-themed augmented reality game like Pokémon Go, a Resident Evil match-three puzzle game, and a From Dusk Till Dawn beat-'em-up inspired by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. They also pitch a turn-based Addams Family RPG based on the classic black-and-white style.

Game Reviews and What We’ve Been Playing

  • Mike: Discusses his experience with Fortnite’s Halloween event (Fortnitemares) and the Halloween-themed battle pass in Fall Guys.
  • Phil: Tried Mad Streets, a team-based beat-’em-up game on Game Pass, but found it lacking.

Dead Space Remake Impressions
Mike and Phil dive into the Dead Space Remake. They share their nostalgic moments and frustrations, including the frequent enemy ambushes and dark lighting. Despite a few drawbacks, they both agree that the game remains a horror masterpiece.

Next Week’s Game: Inscryption
The spooky season continues as Retro Game Frankenstein assigns the hosts to play Inscryption, a psychological horror card game.

Welcome to another episode of The Gamerheads Podcast. We start this episode with an icebreaker: What video game character would you want to have dinner with, and what would you talk about? Of course, the cast comes up with some silly answers.
But when the laughter subsides, we shift gears to some serious gaming gab. The latest Fall Guys update that's been driving us up a digital wall with its new three-round ordeal and underwhelming player-made levels. We also discuss the closure of studios by Xbox/Microsoft and the impact that will have for years to come.
Wrapping up, our game reviews take you on a trip from the pun-laden depths of 'Cryptmaster' to the charming streets of 'Little Kitty, Big City,' where you help an adorable feline find its way home. We're handing out high-fives for creativity, storytelling, and all-around entertaining gameplay that will leave you purring for more.
And for a dash of contrast, we share our lukewarm take on 'Animal Well,' a game that, despite the buzz, hasn't quite captured our gamers' hearts.
So, slap on those headphones and get ready for a rollercoaster ride through the latest in gaming – from frustration to fascination, it's all here on The Gamerheads Podcast.
