The Fox News Rundown - Extra: Gen Z Is Deep In Debt. How Can They Get Out Of It?
play

06/09/24 • 18 min

Like many Americans, Gen Z isn’t feeling great about the economy. However, they’re also facing a wealth problem, with individuals under 35 having the lowest average net worth for any generation. A large part of that is due to rising debt.

Many young adults struggle to manage a budget, pay off student loans, and afford housing.

Author, and financial expert, Rachel Cruze recently joined the Rundown’s Lisa Brady to discuss the financial woes of Gen Z.

Cruz broke down why the nation is facing record levels of consumer debt, and how young people have taken a different approach to spending than previous generations.

She also shared tips on how to pay down debt.

The conversation was long and we could not include all of it in our original FOX News Rundown segment.

On the FOX News Rundown Extra, you will hear our entire conversation with financial expert Rachel Cruze and get even more of her analysis and advice.

The Fox News Rundown - Trump Rally Shooting: The Search For Accountability
play

08/15/24 • 34 min

Questions remain surrounding the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. While it seems some media outlets have moved past the tragic event, Congress has pushed forward with a bipartisan task force investigating the failures that occurred on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania. While a motive for the shooting remains unclear, the focus has turned to the Secret Service's actions and inability to secure the perimeter of the presidential candidate's rally. Head of the Congressional task force Congressman Mike Kelly (R-PA-16) joins the Rundown to discuss what it was like being present at the rally where former President Trump was nearly killed, what answers the task force is looking for, and what can be done to prevent something like this in the future.

We’re still paying more for food, housing, and other basic things, but inflation is coming back down. For the first time in over three years, the annual rate of consumer price increase is under three percent. President Joe Biden claims the latest CPI report is a sign that his administration is continuing to make progress. However, former President Trump and his campaign continue to blame the White House for high prices and America’s ongoing concerns about their wallets. FOX News Contributor and former economic advisor to President Barack Obama, Robert Wolf, explains why inflation is cooling so slowly and what can be done to relieve American families.

This week, a federal appeals court placed limitations on the use and distribution of the abortion pill Mifepristone. The drug's manufacturer, Danco Laboratories, has asked the Supreme Court to preserve access to the pill. The ruling comes as various state legislatures impose new restrictions and protections for abortion, leading many lawmakers to weigh in on what the federal government's role in reproductive care should be. Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) discusses the politics surrounding the court's decision on the Mifepristone, how the issue of abortion is impacting the Republican party, and why she suggests that the FDA should ignore the latest ruling.

President Biden officially has dropped out of the 2024 race, telling Americans in his Oval Office address that he felt it was “time to pass the torch” to a younger generation. It marks a historic move, as he becomes the first modern sitting President to not seek reelection just weeks before the Democratic National Convention. President Biden also laid out ambitious plans for domestic and foreign policy in the remaining months of his presidency. FOX News Radio Political Analyst Josh Kraushaar, FOX News Radio Political Anchor and White House Correspondent Jared Halpern, and Republican Strategist Colin Reed join the Rundown to share reactions to President Biden’s Oval Office address, forecast voters’ opinion on this primary process, and how it positions Vice President Harris for her 2024 presidential campaign blitz.

Vice President Kamala Harris kicked off her 2024 campaign earlier this week. However, she isn't the official nominee just yet. But how will her name at the top of the ticket impact down-ballot races in key states? Ohio Republican Senate candidate Bernie Moreno joined the Rundown to discuss why he'll flip his state's seat red and help the GOP win back control of the Senate.

Plus, commentary from FOX News Contributor and author of the new book "Fear Itself", Tammy Bruce.
