David Walker - A Passion for Fly Fishing
The Fly Culture Podcast
12/15/21 • 76 min
From a young age, David Walker was obsessed with fly fishing. He would fish all the hours he could, often with his brother.
As he grew older, he entered the world of competitive fishing but after gaining 3 caps for Scotland he decided to focus on other aspects of fishing and now enjoys nothing more than waiting for a rising fish and seeing if he can catch it.
They say we go through distinct phases as anglers. Firstly wanting to catch a fish, then lots of fish followed by big fish. Eventually looking for a tricky one in a hard-to-reach spot is enough.
David's story follows this path perfectly.

He confesses to be 'Salmon Bum' and we look at the term along with social media and its uses both good and not so good.
He is also a successful musician who makes some great tunes.

Tune in to see how we get on.

I catch up with Lindsay Simpson to learn about his fly fishing career, his love of fishing lakes, reservoirs and rivers and the journey he has taken to get there.
I also find out about what goes into running a busy YouTube channel and why he is so keen to introduce anglers into our pastime.
