The Final Podcast - 234 - Night of the Demons (1988) Review
play

10/21/24 • 51 min

Teenagers encounter evil at a party in a funeral parlor on Halloween night, which prevents them from leaving and puts them in a fight for survival against demons.
Night of the Demons is considered a cult classic, Halloween horror movie, but after watching, not much happens. It's not good, it's not bad, but once thing is for certain, the movie gets weird. These demons are not only looking to kill, but they are very sexual. Watch the movie and catch our review.

The Final Podcast - 214 - Evil Dead II (1987) Review
play

06/03/24 • 36 min

Ash, the only survivor from a previous flesh-possessing demonic takeover, spends his time in a cabin with strangers as the demon come back and continue their onslaught.
Evil Dead II is the first movie we're discussing in Cabin Month and it sure is the best movie to kick it off! Evil Dead II is partially a remake of The Evil Dead and it's better in almost every way. Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell ensure the comedy blends with the horror perfectly in a bloody film that takes slapstick and gore to a new level. This movie is very entertaining and consistently picks up the pace up until the conclusion. Watch the movie and catch our review.

The Final Podcast - Final Friday: Scary Tales: Dark Walker (2024)
play

10/25/24 • 37 min

Strangers mysteriously wake up in a strange house and attempt to survive attacks by aliens, zombies, Bigfoot, the Muffin Man as well as a being known as The Dark Walker.
It's Friday! We're back to discuss a new Geno McGahee movie titled, Scary Tales: Dark Walker. The movie opens up with the character charm we know and love from McGahee. The film places its protagonist and main characters in a fight for survival against strange beings who are trying to kill them for reasons the characters as well as the audience may not know. The movie references back to McGahee classics and the craziness of the film is always a joy. Watch the movie and catch our review.

The Final Podcast - 216 - Dead Snow (2009) Review
play

06/18/24 • 35 min

A ski trip goes south for medical students who find themselves battling a horde of nazi zombies.
Dead Snow is an excellent zombie movie with a cool winter atmosphere in a cabin that turns bloody fast. The movie combines the comedic relief of the unbelievable circumstances that the characters are in with the bloody chaos of the zombies very well. The film is very entertaining and poses the zombies as intelligent as they have a purpose to kill the characters. Watch the movie and catch our review.

The Final Podcast - 139 - Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 (1987) Review
play

12/26/22 • 44 min

The time has come to review the iconic film that brought the world "Garbage Day!" Merry Christmas everyone as we review Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2. This is a movie that almost has enough recycled footage from the first movie to fill the entire feature-length of this film.
In Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2, Ricky recounts the events that led him to becoming a murderer after his brother, Billy, was killed at the orphanage. A far as sequels go, this one is all time bad, but it is a cult classic for one climactic scene that is totally unforgettable. Watch the movie and catch our review.

The Final Podcast - 122 - Possession (1981) Review
play

08/29/22 • 50 min

So get this. Your wife asks for a divorce and of course, it absolutely shatters your world. But you're actually Sam Neil's character, Mark, in the 1981 horror drama, Possession, where that's actually the least of your worries cause you'll soon encounter demonic sex goo and your son will tragically die from the trauma. Oh and just watch for the spiral staircase. It's a wacky world. However, there's a very distinguished and sexual Euro.
This movie, while almost impossible to find, is a movie that we absolutely love to talk about and is one of our favorites. We are so excited to discuss this movie at length and all the craziness that's in it. A movie that is so deep and so bat shit crazy, we can't keep our eyes off the screen.

The Final Podcast - 121 - Alone in the Dark (2005) Review
play

08/22/22 • 52 min

A paranormal detective researching an ancient civilization soon realizes he plays a central role in the war between the world of the light and the dark. Alone in the Dark is the 2nd movie we reviewed from Uwe Boll, who has a reputation for video game adaptations, although not a good one. We previously reviewed House of the Dead earlier this year and while it was a fun watch, the movie was not the best. Actually, it was pretty horrible. In any case, we wanted to give Uwe Boll another shot and maybe we shouldn't have. Alone in the Dark is a tough watch. Although it's stacked with some big name actors like Christian Slater, Tara Reid, and Stephen Dorff, it's a hard watch and doesn't really have any direction. With that being said, give it a watch and listen to our review.

The Final Podcast - 65 - Jersey Shore Shark Attack (2012) Review
play

07/26/21 • 86 min

Shark Week was a few weeks ago, but that doesn't mean we can't pay homage to our favorite aquatic horror predators! Jersey Shore Shark Attack is a parody based off the MTV hit reality series, The Jersey Shore. Natives of New Jersey, we came to love the show, but seeing so many poor parodies in horror, we had low expectations for this movie. It's a good thing, they proved us wrong!
Seaside Heights is renovating and looking to be better than ever for the 4th of July. However, during the construction, there appears to be a stirring in the water. The Jersey Shore is shark infested! It's up to several unlikely guidos and guidettes to put a stop to the sharks attacking Seaside Heights and killing the townspeople.
Although not a great movie as it's filled with plot holes, non-sensical dialogue and character actions, this movie delivers on the comedy front! We enjoyed it so much we invited the Pokemon Internet Champion, Sauce McGavin, his fiance, Beca, and D-String from the NJ rap rock band, Green Knuckle Material, on the show to discuss and review this movie.

The Final Podcast - Final Friday: Haunted Boat (2005)
play

05/17/24 • 26 min

Six friends on a boat trip get lost at sea where they encounter their worst fears.
Haunted Boat is a movie that we've seen way more than we should have. After our 3rd rewatch, it hasn't gotten any better. This movie goes into depth with character fears as they start encountering those fears in the weirdest yet least impactful ways. The movie doesn't do the best job of developing the characters they have their fears take over and works hard to make this movie an existential crisis of the protagonist. Watch the movie and catch our review.

The Final Podcast - 231 - Scream 4 (2011) Review
play

09/30/24 • 71 min

After 10 years have passed, Sidney Prescott is haunted again by the Ghostface Killer when her cousin becomes a target.
The last movie we are discussing in Sequel September is Scream 4. Wes Craven comes back with a banger as this film continues the fun of having charming characters centered around an entertaining mystery. As we come to expect from Scream movies, the writing is very clever and the parody is hilarious. The movie has a strong cast who put together great performances and make the film one of the best in the series. Watch the movie and catch our review.
