Hi everyone,
So here is the episode we delayed temporarily whilst the major breaking news regarding Honda announcing their departure from F1 following the 2021 season. So please forgive the timing as we recorded this episode on Thursday before the Honda news broke to the world.
In this episode, Courtney (the birthday boy) and I discuss the growing concern regarding the F1 stewards officiating following further controversial decision making regarding penalties during the Russian GP, and whether or not it is inconsistent.
We also discuss the news that Ferrari have announced that their trio of young academy stars Mick Schumacher, Callum Illot and Robert Schwartzman are to participate in FP1 sessions. The former two at this weekends German GP and Schwartzman at the Abu Dhabi GP, as well as the three of them doing practice runs in a 2018 spec Ferrari.
We also preview the German GP and what caveats we may expect at the nurburgring circuit following a length absence and also racing in unorthodox conditions.

Hi Everyone,
I can't say that previous Russian GPs have been considered F1 classics, and this was no exception, but could it prove to be a pivotal moment in the F1 championship?
Courtney discuss the fall out of the Russian Grand Prix where Valterri Bottas recorded his second race victory of the 2020 season, his first since the opening race in Austria.
We also discuss the two pre-race penalties for Lewis Hamilton for practice start infringements. He really does seem to get the odd penalties which once again cost him what seemed to be a likely win.
We also look into the rest of the field and look at who will happy after the race in Sochi and who will still be looking for answers.
And finally we discuss the news this week where Chase Carey has announced that he will be leaving his post as F1 CEO at the end of the year, to be replaced by former Ferrari Team Principal Stefano Domenicali. What that means for F1 going forward as well as assessing the short but incredible impact Carey has had at the helm of the sport.

Hi Everyone,
Another huge bombshell has dropped as Honda have announced that will be leaving Formula One as an engine supplier at the end of the 2021 season.
This comes as a huge shock as one of the four F1 engine suppliers announce that they are leaving the sport for the third time after rejoining in 2015.
We go over the highs and lows of Honda's recent spell in F1 as well as why Honda have decided to leave and what impact this has on not only the sport going forward, but also with their customer teams Red Bull & Alpha Tauri.
And also, I would like to dedicate this episode to my co host Courtney who celebrates his 29th birthday today.
As always, thanks for stopping by and listening to our podcast. Please stay safe, and we will see you in the next DNF1 - F1 Podcast.

Adam is joined by F1 Journalist and host of the Pondering Papaya Podcast Sam Cooper to review the 2024 F1 CHINESE GP as Max Verstappen puts in another dominant display ahead of Lando Norris and Sergio Perez.

We discuss how Lando Norris answered his critics with another superb display to beat Perez and the two Ferrari's with his 7th P2 in the last 18 races. We also discuss contrasting fortunes for the Aston Martin team and why Fernando Alonso's odd strategy was not as wrong as some might have claimed.

We also discuss Lewis Hamilton's recovery drive from P18 to P9, and why Daniel Ricciardo may have proven that he was right all along about the chassis problems he previously had that was affecting his early season struggles.

Should the serious questions be asked of Hamilton, Russell, and Toto Wolff if Mercedes fail to get it right for the 3rd season in a row?

These are the questions Adam has put to F1 journalist for the Race, and host of the 'Bring Back The V10s' Podcast Glenn Freeman. Glenn himself provided some expert analysis and some bold predictions in this one!

play

02/12/24 • 41 min

In the FINAL episode of the 'Assessing Red Bull's F1 2024 Challengers' mini-series, we turn our attention to FERRARI as Adam is joined by F1 Journalist Sam Cooper from Planet F1, to discuss Ferrari's chances of posing a serious challenge to Red Bull in 2024.

In the episode, we discuss how Ferrari recovered from a difficult 2023 campaign which saw them having to re-invent themselves following the departure of former team boss Mattia Binotto, and arrival of Fred Vasseur. We discuss if Fred's first season with the team should be considered a success, and why the prancing horse might be galloping towards a much stronger 2024 season.

We also discuss the impact both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will need to have for their own personal reasons in 2024, and we finish off by discussing the pressures and opportunities Ferrari must embrace now that 7x World Champion, Lewis Hamilton will be joining the team in 2025.

It is the sixth episode of our 2024 F1 launch season mini-series. Next up is the ASTON MARTIN AMR 24, breaking cover on Monday morning.

Adam gives us his thoughts on the new Aston Martin car which surprised no one in it being a beautiful looking car with the famous green livery. Adam also discusses some of the technical details of the new Aston Martin which have also given us some interesting clues regarding what supplier's Mercedes are cooking with their own 2024 car, the W15 which is revealed on Wednesday.

Adam also discuss the expectations Aston Martin now must meet to ensure that not only they can build a car that they can develop throughout the season and rectify their problems from last season, but also one competitive enough to convince 2x World Champion FERNANDO ALONSO to stay with the team beyond this season amid fears he is a serious option for Mercedes to replace Lewis Hamilton with in 2025. Adam finishes off with a few thoughts on how pivotal Lance Stroll's progress will be for the team after a difficult 2023 campaign.
