🐕 Pippa! In this episode, my friend and fellow direct care dermatologist, Dr. Riyaz, shares his journey from medical school to the innovative direct care practice that he launched in 2023.
He sheds light on the pivotal influences in his life, the intersection of medicine, business, and journalism in his professional pursuits, and the transformative power of storytelling.
He reflects on the rewards of his service-based approach that allows him to build deeper relationships with patients and how he seeks out value in his practice while maintaining uncompromised patient care standards.
Reflecting on what direct care means to him, he provides us with an engaging and thought provoking reframe of direct care as value-based care. This contrasts starkly with the web of bureaucracy and alphabet soup that I imagine many of you think of when you hear the phrase "value-based care".
If you enjoy this, the best way to support the continued production of more content like it is to subscribe/follow and leave an honest review on Apple Podcasts or your favorite podcast platform. Thank you!

When we recorded this interview on August 6, 2024, this scholarship was supporting his pursuit of a Master of Public Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and providing him with enrichment activities to hone his leadership skills, develop his professional network, and engage with today's leaders.A bit more about my pal Niroj... He also advises Federal Parliament of Nepal Member Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, serves as an executive member of the Authentic Leadership Institute Nepal, and is a consultant to the Ever Forward Club in Hayward, California.
Dr. Bhandari's diverse activities and passions underscore his unwavering commitment to healthcare, research, leadership, and community service. The Direct Care Derm - Black Friday Bonus -- A Gift From Me To You
play

11/29/24 • 51 min

For all who celebrated, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. I'm grateful to all of you who have listened to the show so far.
Instead of selling you something on Black Friday, I want to give you something.
What you're about to hear is an unfinished draft of an e-book I started many months ago. While I never ended up finishing it, it contains a lot of valuable information, much of which I frequently discuss during consultations with my patients. In the spirit of not letting perfect be the enemy of good, I offer it to you here as a short, unfinished audio book.
If it sounds a bit different to you than usual if you're a regular listener or a bit odd in general if you're a new listener, it's because the audio was generated using an AI clone of my voice with the help of Eleven Labs (affiliate link).
Please excuse any pronunciation errors or hallucinations. Speech generation models can hallucinate just like text based generative AI models do. The difference between this and my actual voice will only become less obvious over time, so I'll always disclose when an artificial voice rendering is being used.
I hope you learn something. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me at 715-391-9774 or [email protected] if you have any questions or comments.

His mission is to share the knowledge and processes that have profoundly benefited his life, helping others achieve optimal health and wellness.Dr. Lipman provides his patients with expert diagnosis, non-addictive pain relief, swift corrective care for present conditions, and education in preventative care. His chiropractic practice is a reflection of his personal journey as a patient who experienced significant injuries from a young age and found chiropractic care to be the solution. Over time, he has incorporated cutting-edge therapies and devices, such as Deep Tissue Laser Therapy, Whole Body Vibration, Mechanical Motion Therapy, Whole Body Cryotherapy, and Photo Bio Modulation Therapy, to quickly and safely resolve issues.Proud to offer progressive therapies not commonly found in other practices, Dr. Lipman is dedicated to providing empathetic, effective, and proactive relief. His philosophy addresses the daily stressors that impact natural weight-bearing and movement mechanics, which often lead to musculoskeletal problems. With experience owning and operating several fitness-club based healthcare practices, Dr. Lipman is committed to helping patients of all ages achieve pain-free and fit lives, enhancing their structural integrity and overall well-being.Tune in to my conversation with Dr. David Lipman for a far-reaching conversation with a fellow practice owner who has built a great life and a great business by going to bat to help people the best way he knows how.
