Amy Saenz is on this episode talking all about self compassion. Practicing self compassion takes work. I'd love to hear from you! Send a message to the show about the show.
Layton and Chelsea Boeve are co-hosts of the podcast, Liberator. Liberator is a discussion of pornography’s hard truths. The show was created to remove the barriers of shame and embarrassment that stifle conversations and community around the effects of pornography. Chelsea and Layton hit us with some truth bombs and remind us that this is a brain issue, not a moral issue. Be sure to subscribe to their podcast Liberator where ever you listen to podcasts.

9. Q & A Episode (with co-host Sheila Schwab)
The Couch Next Door
07/13/23 • 55 min
I'd love to hear from you! Send a message to the show about the show.
This episode is a Q&A show covering topics like play therapy, insurance, and therapists’ POV of clients. We cover a lot of ground here. My Mom is here to co-host with me as I answer questions I received from Instagram. I mention in the episode, therapy is hard and tricky at times, but most of all it takes courage to step into therapy work and therapists are honored to be invited into our clients' lives. If you have any other questions for me, feel free to send me a message on Instagram and I'd be happy to do my best to find answers for you.

7. Toxic Masculinity in the Military (Steve Johnson)
The Couch Next Door

I'd love to hear from you! Send a message to the show about the show.
This episode with my friend Steve Johnson focuses on toxic masculinity in the military. For clarification, Steve isn’t speaking on behalf of the US military or as a representative of the Texas Military Department, he is only sharing his experience and observations to help others feel encouraged and less alone when it comes to the negative effects of toxic masculinity. Toxic masculinity can be found anywhere, so pay attention to your fellow humans and be inspired by what Steve says about speaking up on behalf of others and also being a safe place for others to unpack feelings.

Charlie Stern is joining me today with a unique perspective as a kid of a divorce. Charlie was 19 when his parents divorced. On today’s episode he looks back as an observer of his parents going through difficult seasons within their marriage that ultimately resulted in the marriage ending. He encourages parents and older kids on how to take care of each other well during this sort of loss within the family system.

Eating Disorders (Bobbie Melton, LPC)

I'd love to hear from you! Send a message to the show about the show.
Bobbie is a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Texas. She specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, anxiety, and obsessive compulsive disorder. She's been in private practice since 2020, and worked at an eating disorder hospital for several years before starting her own practice. As we mention in this episode, treating eating disorders is a specialty you do not want to compromise on. It is very important when seeking treatment in this area to find someone that has the knowledge that Bobbie is sharing with us today. Grab a pen and paper for this one. There’s a lot of information you’re not going to want to miss! If anything, let’s just all agree to be more neutral about all bodies!
