A fundamental change in thought patterns began to emerge from the Scientific Revolution of the 16th and 17th centuries. The spiritual world was seen as insignificant, and the natural world was seen as the “real” world, the world of reason, and the world of science. As a result, by the end of the Age of Enlightenment, many held the worldview of God as being unknowable or unprovable. A wall was created dividing faith from reason. But is God unprovable? Is our faith in God reasonable, or is it an irrational belief in the absurd?

Last week, we began a new series, An Unshackled Worldview. In it, we are continuing to develop and adjust our worldview to God’s perspective as revealed in the Bible. The more biblical our worldview, the freer we get. Jesus said it himself, “...the truth will make you free!” Join us this Sunday as we continue with the second part of this challenging and faith-strengthening series and answer the question: Is God really in control?

Many philosophers and rationalists who lived during the Age of Enlightenment cast many doubts upon the validity of scripture. The erroneous teachings of these men were taught in universities and colleges around the world as truth. Their teachings are still being taught in our schools and dramatically affect Western society as a whole. This Sunday, we will continue to build a true Biblical worldview by exposing the fallacies of these enlightened thinkers and their views on the Bible. We will prove the validity of the scripture and present evidence for the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
