Transforming Smart Sustainable Cities Of The Future|Chungha Cha, Co-Founder of Re-Imagining Cities
The Coliving Code Podcast03/24/21 • 31 min
Cha worked in finance for 20+ years (Citibank in New York, Sydney and Honolulu, Yasuda Trust Bank in Tokyo, Board Member to Asian Merchant Bank and CEO of Lone Star Real Estate Funds in Seoul). And now, since 2008, for 12+ years, Cha has focused his career on
green buildings, proptech, smart cities and sustainability in the built environment.
We strive for the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Climate Action through the accelerated development of smart, sustainable communities and cities around the world. Cities believe that, in today’s digital age, part of becoming a smart city is to attract businesses, residents, tourists, and talent, and to ultimately foster economic growth and inclusive prosperity. We believe that smart cities must decouple economic growth from CO2 emissions to minimize its impact on the environment and public health. One way to achieve this is through large re-urbanization projects with embedded sustainability goals and metrics.
Cha graduated Columbia Business School, MBA 1985 (Majors: Accounting, Finance & Real Estate) and the Wharton School, BS in Economics 1979 (Majors: International Finance & Data
Science). Cha is married for 30+ years and have two daughters. Cha enjoys traveling the world to study smart city initiatives; to share with and learn from the stakeholders involved.

This show is a passion project of Kndrd, the first management software platform and global directory for Coliving.
One of the biggest problems throughout our modern society is the cost of living and lack of community. People are signing away their paychecks on rent and feeling increasingly isolated. We're on a personal mission to solve these problems through the CoLiving movement by helping redefine the term ‘housemate’ with something meaningful, sustainable, and flexible on a global level.
People now are choosing access over ownership and new real estate projects need to be built specifically for the way humans are deciding to live together.
These interviews feature experts in the field who share their own successes and journeys.
Enjoy!
