The Child's Play Film Series Retrospective- Episode 196
The Cinema Psychos Show
11/10/20 • 91 min
This week, we are back after a little Halloween hiatus with a little retrospective just as we leave spooky season and march toward the mass consumer orgy that is Xmas with a tale of toys gone bad....well more like movies about a single toy gone bad. We are of course referring to academy award winning actor, Brad Dourif portrayal of the "all rubber" serial killer in a matching jumper, Chucky in The Child's Play Series. The series is a rollercoaster ride of camp, gore, and a bit of voodoo from the mind of Don Mancini. But how does this cavalcade of horrors from the cabbage patch doll from hell stack up when examined without nostalgia goggles? We'll find out today as we break down the long and bloody career of Charles Lee Ray and our retrospective on The Child's Play Films!

Alien 3 - Really That Awful? - Episode 193
The Cinema Psychos Show
10/04/20 • 81 min
This week, we are diving head first into spooky season by analyzing what arguably might be the lowest point of The Alien Franchise (not counting Resurrection, Alien Vs. Predator, Prometheus.....or Alien Covenant) and what might be the lowest point of David Fincher's career. We are of course talking about 1992's Alien 3. A movie that takes all the things you loved about Alien and Aliens and dumps it into a toilet bowl full of brown depressing poo. A movie that suffers from some of the most notorious cases of studio meddling combined with massive lack of direction that can be traced to the simple act of idea generation for a sequel. But does this film deserve the marker of being the worst in the series? Are there redeeming factors that can be gleaned after nearly 30 years since it's release? We'll attempt to answer these questions as we dissect the alien goose egg known as Alien 3.

Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure - Movie Review - Episode 190
The Cinema Psychos Show
08/25/20 • 48 min
This week, your most triumphant podcast dudes, Brian and John, undertake a most excellent and definitely non heinous review of one of our own guilty pleasure films. We are of course talking about the time travelling duo Bill & Ted and their first outing "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure." A movie that finally is getting it's long awaited third sequel, "Bill & Ted Face The Music" and introduced us to such concepts as having a crush on your step mom who was a senior when you were a freshmen, So-crates, and the fact that once you've flunked out of summer school a time travelling phone booth just might be the only way you pass your history report. So grab your air guitar and reach out and touch someone as we surf the circuits of time in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure!

Battlefield Earth - Movie Review - Episode 191
The Cinema Psychos Show
09/08/20 • 67 min
This week, Brian and John are again running the show sans Laine, sparing her the horror of reviewing what arguably might be the biggest budget B movie of all time. A movie filled with an equal amount of hollywood intrigue, financial shinnanigins, and lawsuits.....and oh yea the movie is hot hot garbage. We are of course talking about the one and only (thank god) film about gold hungry aliens: Battlefield Earth. A favorite drinking game at every film school, Battlefield Earth was billed as "the next star wars" and "the next Schindler's List" but ended up being a weird flop filled with dutch angles, terrible dialogue, bad editing, and a garbage script. So all you "man-animals" gather around as we dive into the world of Battlefield Earth.

This week, just like mixing our peanut butter with our chocolate, we are doing a deep dive into our top 5 favorite Comedic Horror Movies!
