In this episode, we’ll look at the future of batteries and ask: what’s driving this surge in innovation; can battery tech meet the demands of an EV revolution; what’s getting battery fans really charged up; and what does future technology mean for nickel and other critical metals? With our sights set on a clean energy future, we’ll only get as far as our batteries will take us. So the question begs, can they really keep us going ... and going ... and going?

EVs: Bring on the revolution
Electric vehicles are the future – and the future is coming fast. By 2030, more than 50% of all new cars sold will be electric - and in that same time frame, the EV market is expected to quadruple to nearly 1 Trillion USD. But what’s most alarming is this: we’re just getting started. So, as the EV revolution goes full swing, can supply keep up with demand? Are there enough raw materials out there for batteries? Will people embrace or resist change? In this episode, we look at all the activity, excitement and trepidation happening in this space, and the role ESG plays in helping keep our moral compass on track.

The Charge is on: the rush to secure nickel supply
The automotive world has begun to make its big nickel move - and many mining companies are about to get very, very popular. Some of the world’s biggest nickel deposits are sitting undeveloped, waiting for the right partners (and the right money), to move forward. And while the big car companies have moved slowly up to now (that’s the nature of the beast), things are clearly changing. They have to. Because there’s only so much nickel to source - and if you’re not in the electric vehicle business in 10 years, you’re not in the vehicle business. You’re out of business.
