In order to position yourself as the top candidate for the job you'll love, you need be able to show that you are the person they need - that you can solve the key problems, that you've done your research, and that you'll fit well into the company culture.
When you only have an hour or so to position yourself during an interview, it pays to be prepared.
In today's episode, Jonathan and veteran search professional Anthony Caputi discuss the importance of finding the right candidate for the role - and how to position yourself as that top candidate. Anthony shares both actionable strategies and examples to equip you to put those strategies to work for you.
You'll learn which questions to ask in your interview, when and how to ask them, and why. In addition, you'll discover new ways to approach your interview preparation and articulate your value proposition to a prospective employer.
Anthony also shares about how to keep a good balance during your interview - how to be give a solid presentation without making it "all about you" - as well as how to make sure that you have a solid understanding of the company's expectations of you early on.

2. In what areas of that field would you say you're an expert?
3. In what areas of that field would you like mentorship or training?
4. In what area of this field do you prefer to be less involved?
5. What made the best manager you ever had the best manager you ever had?
6. What made the worst manager you ever had the worst manager you ever had?
7. Looking back, 5 years from now, what would you like to have achieved?
8. How many managers have you reported to in the last 5 years, and what were their strengths and weaknesses as managers?
9. In your past 3 roles, what specifically were you hired or tasked to deliver? (Be specific!)
10. What were specific victories and challenges that you faced, and how did you approach and handle them?
11. Tell me about a time when you fell short, and what did you learn from this experience?
12. Where have others helped you be more successful?
13. How have you helped others be more successful?
