1. Why Care Ministry Matters

In this episode, I'm sharing why I feel that Care Ministry is so incredibly important and a little about my journey and experiences.
Churches are on the front lines of supporting people through suffering and challenges. Every day we have people in our congregations struggling with addictions, mental health grief, loss, physical health challenges and stress. Ministry leaders are first responders for their members and often the surrounding community. And yet it doesn’t have the resources, training and staff that many community support organizations have.
I often see and hear leaders saying that “we don’t have the resources to be a crisis centre” “We aren’t able to tend to everyone.” And I agree, but people are desperate for a place where they can belong, find purpose and have hope. By investing in your care ministry you create an environment for these three elements to flourish and where lives can be transformed.

2. The Caring Church Response
The Caring Church Response is the process that I walk churches through to create sustainable care ministries that transform communities and strengthens your church.
This is really about creating a culture of care in your church rather than building a specific program. Programs consume resources, where culture strengthens resources.
In this episode, I want to walk you through the 4 steps of the Caring Church Response. This is the process that I do with clients. Churches that want to revitalize their care ministry. Churches that see a hurting community and know they are called to serve but don’t know how to build a sustainable ministry that doesn’t burn out their leaders and volunteers.
The 4 steps of the Caring Church Response gather the data for you to make strategic choices, it tends to the weariness of the team, Builds the capacity of the team and grows your community impact.
