Cannabis and Mushrooms - How they feel, compare/contrast, and why you should add them to your wellness routine!
Welcome back! Rate, subscribe, and please tell us what you like/Don’t like about what we’re doing...we always appreciate the feedback!
We’re talking about a new frontier today...Mushrooms!
-and guess what? You can get (some) of these on Amazon too!!
-we’ll talk about the differences and similarities between these two, of course from a scientific/anecdotal perspective!
Why is this topic important? Why do we even spend time on this?
-mushshrooms are the next big thing!...at least that’s how I see it!
-with mushrooms, we’re seeing similar and amazing therapeutic opportunities for our health as we have with cannabis, so we want to dabble in this a bit!
-again, we’ll see magic mushrooms be a part of our history for thousands of years!
In recent decades drug prohibition has hindered and suppressed valuable information about the role these compounds have played in human development.
-Luckily people want this information now, so Researchers are starting to gather hard data that backs up millennia of anecdotal and historical evidence supporting THC and psilocybin as invaluable tools that heal the mind, body, and soul.
-can’t wait to get into it!!!

Cannabis and Topical Creams: A Refresh!
The Cannabis Connoisseur
09/28/23 • 21 min
Cannabis and Topical Creams
Welcome back! Rate, subscribe, tell us what you like or don’t like!
Why is this topic important?
-I think for several reasons!
-A) We’ve talked about creams but have never dedicated a show to it
-B) There are sooooo many applications for it
-C) No psychoactive properties, so this is great for grandma!
-D) Harmless introduction for a newbie to cannabis!
-E) All Natural and very effective alternative
-F) -Pain is a big driver that brings people to opioid addiction or harsher drugs to treat that pain.
So let’s get into it!
What are topicals?
-Topicals are cannabis-infused balms, lotions, sprays, and oils that are absorbed through the skin for localized pain relief...different that vaping or taking a tincture/tablet, which will target all areas of the body.
-We’re seeing that Cannabis creams can help with pain, discomfort, and inflammation.
-Sometimes when we get this relief, we get it from Opioids, which can cause unwanted side effects such as nausea, constipation, addiction, and then we’re talking about cannabis use for a whole other ailment to treat!
-You can often find strain specific topicals as well with both the terpenes and cannabinoids, sometimes other herbals are thrown in there as well.
How do they work?
-You have receptors all over your skin, so they will bind to the CB1/2 receptors to provide localized relief...they don’t enter the blood stream, so their effects will remain where you put them, and thus also won’t travel up to your brain to give you that nice little buzz!
-Transdermal Patches- These actually DO reach your bloodstream and can cause psychoactivity
-Since CBD won’t spark addiction, this may be something we need to consider instead of possibly vicadin next time you have an intense back pain or something?
What ailments can I treat with topicals?
-muscle soreness, tension, inflammation, psoriasis, dermatitis, itching, headaches, and cramping.
-A THC-rich rub infused with cooling menthol and peppermint is a perfect way to wind down from a brutal workout or hike. For intense localized pain, you may try a warming balm that combines the deep painkilling properties of cannabinoids with a tingling, soothing sensation.
-THCa and CBD together (NOT THC), are both great for inflammation when you put them together.
How I use topicals?
-Inflammation on my knees (High CBD)
-Any irritation from working out that’s a result of inflammation
-Pain relief from cuts (High THC)
-Cuts from dry hands
-inflammation for my sinuses
-stomach upset
-acne-stops sebaceous glands from producing too much oil, reduces inflammation

Cannabis for Seasonal Affective Disorder!

Cannabis for Seasonal Affective Disorder
-Welcome back! Thank you for joining us again!
-It’s the season!
-It’s getting chilly, hot chocolates are getting fired up next to the fire place, and Christmas music is filling the air!!
-That’s one side of the story.
-For others of us, this season is a bit different....
-it’s cold, getting dark early, and tends to be a time always reminding us of our loved ones that may have left us, and other sad times as well.
-family gatherings and holiday shopping commitments also can cause this
So today we’re going to talk about that...seasonal anxiety disorder
Why is this topic important?
-for starters, I think this is something everyone can relate to
-it’s easy to not be as happy when it’s darker and colder, right? Also if you see everyone else enjoying their good times during the holiday if maybe you can’t.
-since we are coming up on the darkest day of the year, December 21st, it’s not the worst time to release this episode.
it’s certainly no stranger to me!
A ~year before I started my journey of losing the ~50-60 lbs and and 5-6 different medications, I was no stranger to these feelings, for me it wasn’t so much of the loss of anyone than it was the short, cold days that kept me inside and multiplied the feelings of guilt, shame, etc.

Cannabis and Tolerance Refresh!
THANK you for your support! We love when you guys reach out. We do this for one reason only, that’s for YOU! Please rate, subscribe, tell us what you like, THANK YOU for coming back!
I love this topic, as usual, this is one that’s near-and-dear to me, and is why I like to share with you all.
Are you feeling sometimes that you’re not getting the same “umph” from your cannabis? Are you getting frustrated? We’ll not for long!
We’ll provide tips in this episode to assist with that and any of these pesky tolerance issues moving forward!
Why is this topic important?
Developing a tolerance can affect your overall experience with cannabis and potentially lead to increased use and dependence.
For me, I think it’s the risk of looking elsewhere for your medicine...for something “stronger@ when you don’t need that...especially when you can just take a day or two, reset, and get efficacy from your cannabis again.
So tune in as we talk about tolerance, what it is, why it happens, and how you can keep your cannabis Always feeling good!

Cannabis and 4/20 Around The World!
The time has arrived just as it has every year!
Birds are chirping, sun is shining, and people are getting PUMPED about cannabis more than ever.....!!
We’ve done the history of 420, cali teens, fans of the greatfuldead meeting at a spot after school at 4:20. This expanding to other greatfuldead fans when one went on tour with them and word spread.
Now it’s just a great day to acknowledge and celebrate this magical plant! The extraordinary part is how it spread, people just love an opportunity to get together and celebrate things they enjoy and what a way to do it. Parades, parties song dance and a sense of community which we all need especially in the world we live in today.
I love this time of year and think this is a great time for us to reflect on how impactful cannabis not just is for us, but how it can be for the world as well.
Let’s get into different ways others utilize cannabis around the world, and hopefully we’ll all be able to celebrate soon just like it’s Christmas!! :)
We’ll break this episode up into 5 parts!
- Origins of 4/20
- Global Celebrations and Traditions
- Success stories of Legalization
- Fun events you may find on this festive day
- Notable and entertaining 4/20 pranks!
